JUJUTSU KAISEN has been a hot topic over the past week, with news breaking that some new information regarding the future of the series was set to be revealed on September 25. Over the last weekend, official channels took to social media to build some anticipation about the upcoming second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN, with a brand-new teaser visual, and a countdown on the official JUJUTSU KAISEN website.

On Saturday, the official JUJUTSU KAISEN Twitter account shared the first teaser visual for the second season, which features the all-powerful Satoru Gojo and the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 antagonist, Suguru Geto. The second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN has been scheduled for broadcast sometime in 2023.

The new teaser visual features Gojo, Geto and their classmate Shoko Ieiri, as seen back in their days as students, with an unknown fourth character whose identity is obscured by a set of fingers over the top part of the frame which, at first glance, appear to be an ominous trail of blood oozing from the series' title.

The release of this teaser visual comes a few days ahead of the Crunchyroll release of the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 movie, which had an original theatrical release in Japan on Christmas Eve last year. The film made its way to theatres in other countries starting with the US in March this year, and now it is set to be available on Crunchyroll on September 21.

News of the planned second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN has been out since the end of the first season, which aired between October 2020 and March 2021, spanning 24 episodes. JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 acts as a prequel to the events of the main series, and is also the interstitial tissue that links the first season and the upcoming second season.

Despite it being quite a while since there was any new information regarding the series, the teaser visual reveals very little about the second season. However, the streaming release of the movie, and the information reveal on the 25th will definitely come welcomed by fans of the series.

The JUJUTSU KAISEN anime series is based on the manga of the same name created by Gege Akutami, and it has been serialized in Shonen Jump since March 2018, running for 20 volumes so far. The first season of the anime, and the film were both produced by MAPPA, which is the studio also involved in the production of heavy-hitters like Attack on Titan: The Final Season; and the upcoming anime adaptation of Fujimoto Tatsuki's Chainsaw Man.
