In Jujutsu Kaisen, Nobara Kugisaka is one of the show's main characters, alongside Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Satoru Gojo. Despite not having as much screen time as the other main characters, Nobara still shines through her unique personality and strengths as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Along with Nobara's development as a sorcerer, Nobara has developed many friends as part of being a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High School, home to many emerging Jujutsu Sorcerers.

9 Akari Nitta

Nobara's Overseer

Although only appearing briefly towards the end of season one, Akari becomes a more prominent character in season two's Shibuya arc. As one of the auxiliary managers, Akari is tasked with overseeing Jujutsu Sorcerers' missions. In the Shibuya arc, Akari is targeted by Haruta Shigemo, a curse user.

When Shigemo targets Akari, Nobara comes to Akari's defense, taking on Shigemo despite her lack of experience. Despite almost falling to Shigemo, Nobara and the arrival of Nanami allow Akari to escape, leading to both Nobara and Akari evacuating the Shibuya district together safely.

8 Toge Inumaki

Nobara's Cursed Speech Classmate

Inumaki is one of the strongest students at Tokyo Jujutsu High School through his use of cursed speech, devastatingly damaging those affected. Although Inumaki does not speak due to his cursed speech, the second-year student provides comfort and friendship to all his classmates, including Nobara.

Throughout Nobara's training for the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, Inumaki is one of the students who help both Nobara and Megumi in their quest to become stronger. Regular sparring sessions with Inumaki aid Nobara, with the fighting experience coming in handy when fighting against the Kyoto students.

7 Satoru Gojo

Nobara's Teacher

Not only is Gojo the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer of them all, but Gojo is Nobara's teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. As Nobara's teacher, Gojo helps educate Nobara and her classmates on the fundamentals of jujutsu sorcery, understanding curses, and how to deal with them effectively. Even with Nobara finding Gojo's personality an annoyance, Nobara, like her classmates, relies on Gojo for wisdom and advice.

Regarding the first-year students, Gojo is more connected to Nobara and Yuji because they all have a childish demeanor toward certain circumstances. Gojo's personality rubs off on Nobara and Yuji as they spend more time with their famed teacher.

6 Panda

Nobara's Animal Friend

When it comes to second-years at Tokyo Jujutsu High School, Panda is the friendliest of the students. From their initial first meeting, Panda and Nobara hit it off, with Panda being a comforting presence for Nobara, with the supposed death of Yuji still looming. While being a caring friend, Panda happens to be one of the more comedic characters in the show, with his unique perspective and personality bringing a much-needed comedic angle to the group of students.

After learning of Maki's lack of cursed energy alongside knowing her Zenin clan background, Nobara understands and relates to Maki as the pair grow close early into the show. Despite a lack of cursed energy, Maki is among the strongest emerging Jujutsu Sorcerers due to her impressive combat skills.

In the Shibuya arc, Maki and Nobara are together in the same team, with the pair meshing well as personalities and Jujutsu Sorcerers.

4 Megumi Fushiguro

Nobara's Classmate

Megumi Fushiguro is one of Nobara's first friends in Tokyo when she moves from the countryside to the bright lights of a big city. With Megumi's reserved personality, the pair would appear to be complete opposites, although they mesh well together due to their everyday experiences.

Throughout the show, the pair have bonded over the main events that have caused trauma and pain. When Yuji supposedly dies early in season one, the pair both grieve together over their dead classmate, with the pair relying on each other for comfort.

3 Yuji Itadori

Nobara's Energetic Classmate

Being the main protagonist, Yuji steals screen time from Nobara, although the pair have a great friendship through shared experiences in the jujutsu world. Although the pair often fight, Nobara and Yuji share many common interests, with food and shopping being their favorite passions.

Yuji's care for Nobara is shown later in the Shibuya arc, where Yuji watches Nobara get killed by Mahito. After Nobara's death, Yuji loses composure in his battle against Mahito as he breaks down over the loss of one of his closest friends.

2 Fumi

Nobara's Hometown Friend

Back in Nobara's hometown, Fumi was Nobara's closest school friend. Fumi is quiet and reserved, the complete opposite of Nobara, who acts loud and mischievous when together. Fumi always followed Nobara's lead in their youth, no matter where it led the pair. When Saori came into Nobara's life, Fumi recognized Nobara's admiration for Saori and her former life in Tokyo.

Nobara's dream of leaving her hometown to move to a city like Tokyo is based on her friendship with Saori.

In the Shibuya arc, when Nobara is out fighting curses, Saori is shown to be working an office job. While doing her job, Saori reminisces about Nobara and Fumi, which shows her care for Nobara.
