While not as strong as Sukuna, according to Kenjaku, Kashimo is still a monstrously powerful fighter. Fans have already seen him fight in the Culling Game, however, his cursed technique was not revealed, that is, until the previous chapter of the story. He finally got the chance to take on Sukuna in combat and showcase what he is truly worth.

Kashimo's Cursed Energy

Kashimo possesses electrifying cursed energy. His reserves of cursed energy are believed to be incredibly vast, given that he was one of the strongest sorcerers of his time, 400 years ago. Even when he was old, it was believed that he was strong enough to cut through entire armies and leave the battlefield full of corpses. He was then returned into a rejuvenated and youthful body, which only strengthened him even further. Kashimo is extremely powerful, and fans got a proper look at him in his new body when he fought against Hakari. The fight was incredibly intense for the fans to witness and even though the latter ended up winning this clash, it was only possible because Kashimo did not use his cursed technique at all.

Instead, he relied completely on his cursed energy and the incredible powers that it offered him. His cursed energy possesses electrical properties, as mentioned before, and this allows him to shock as well as paralyze enemies when they are struck with it. This makes fighting him extremely hard and every blow that he lands, even if blocked, does damage. If that wasn't enough, he is also able to produce powerful waves that simply cannot be defended against, giving him the ability to land a sure-hit attack even without relying on a Domain Expansion. Kashimo is, clearly, one of the strongest sorcerers around, based on the usage of just his cursed energy, let alone his cursed technique.

Kashimo Vs Sukuna

Hajime Kashimo ve Sukuna JJK

Recently, Jujutsu Kaisen focused quite a lot on the fight between Gojo and Sukuna. This clash went on for months and while it was even for the most part, it ended with the defeat and death of Gojo Satoru. Fans were quite surprised to see this shocking turn of events, however, they had little time to process it, as the god of lightning, Hajime Kashimo, immediately jumped onto the battlefield and took the place of Gojo instead.

Fans did not even get a second of relief after an incredibly intense and cathartic fight and immediately, the story jumped to another one, this time, with Kashimo at the focus. This fight began with quite a bit of dialogue exchange. Kashimo wanted to know what it was to be the strongest and what the solitude that came with it felt like. He also inquired if Sukuna was born the strongest or if he became the strongest, to which Sukuna replied that he was an unwanted child so it doesn't really matter to him anyway.

Sukuna was absolutely not in the mood to strike up a conversation and, instead, the battle started rather quickly. It was quite clear that Kashimo had a plan in mind and that was certainly put on full display in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 237. He was able to land some powerful blows on Sukuna and even deal some damage, sending him flying with his powerful blasts. However, the biggest weapon that he revealed in his arsenal was his cursed technique, Genju Kohasaku.

Kashimo's Cursed Technique - Genju Kohasaku

Just by using his cursed energy, Kashimo would get nowhere in the fight against Sukuna. He knew that very well and that is precisely why he decided to finally use the trump card that he had saved all this time. When Kashimo fought Hakari, it was made quite clear that he was only looking to test himself properly against Sukuna. Even upon his proper introduction, fans knew that he wanted to fight against the strongest of all time. His cursed technique, which he could only use once, was, thus, saved for Sukuna as well.

In JJK chapter 237, Kashimo finally revealed his cursed technique, called Genju Kohasaku. This technique is incredibly powerful, however, it does have its own risks as well as its merits. One of the biggest merits of this cursed technique is the fact that Kashimo becomes invulnerable to electricity-based attacks. He simply cannot be electrocuted, even from the special cursed tool that Sukuna possesses. When using his transformation, Genju Kohasaku, Kashimo's body gets enveloped in a lightning-like aura and he gains the ability to utilize any phenomena caused by lightning using his cursed energy.

It is quite clear to see that when he does this, his physical attributes reach sky-high limits and surpass all human limitations. He becomes incredibly fast and agile, to the point where even Sukuna cannot react to these blows, and ended up taking a barrage of powerful attacks. He can also attack with powerful sound waves, which are incredibly difficult to guard against and, if that wasn't enough, the electromagnetic waves that he can launch can vaporize anything on contact, making this ability an extremely dangerous one. The downside of this power is that it can only be used once and when it exhausts, the user's body starts to disintegrate. Despite that, by all means, this is an incredible offensive power-up, however, it can only be used once. That is precisely why he was saving up this power for Sukuna and it is certainly quite a cursed technique.

Genju Kohasaku is extremely overpowered and enhances Kashimo to a point where he can compete with Sukuna quite easily, however, it must be remembered that Sukuna himself is in a much weakened state right now. He cannot use the vast majority of his attacks, such as his Domain Expansion of Malevolent Shrine, or even heal properly. Sukuna has been left in a very weakened state by Gojo and that only means that Kashimo has a big advantage right now.

Sadly, this advantage did not last long as Sukuna started a transformation of his own towards the end of the chapter. He started reincarnating in Megumi's body and this reincarnation was completed with Sukuna returning to his true form. Now, he has a very giant build, with four arms and multiple eyes on his face. He also has his cursed tool at his aid and going by all means, he has now returned to his very best. Kashimo and his cursed technique are incredibly strong and it puts him on a level above that of a human sorcerer. He can even fight against Sukuna, however, winning against him is a different thing altogether. Fans should not expect him to be anywhere near the level of the likes of Sukuna and Gojo, however, he should, by all means, be right behind them.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 237, is set to be October 1, 2023.
