Yuji is one of the most powerful characters in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen right now. This might be difficult for quite a few fans to believe. However, recent developments have seen to it that Yuji developed greatly in terms of power and skill. This was something that the fans expected, given that the story is now headed towards its conclusion.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji Itadori Unleashes A New Technique

Sukuna had to be defeated, and of course, the only one worthy of doing such a massive job was going to be none other than Yuji Itadori. This was even more certain after the death of Gojo Satoru, and fans were simply biding their time and waiting to see Yuji gain some incredible powers. However, even though he has already attained a lot of incredible power, there is still something missing in his arsenal that he will end up getting very soon.

Yuji Itadori Managed To Awaken His True Powers In Shinjuku
In the battle against Sukuna, Yuji Itadori progressed quite a lot. While the power-up certainly was immense, the wait that the fans had to go through to get to this point in the story was certainly arduous. Still, in JJK chapter 256, Yuji finally underwent an Awakening, and his potential was brought out to the very best. On top of that, he also gained a new cursed technique. Before that, during the timeskip of Jujutsu Kaisen, the most important power that he gained was Blood Manipulation. He gained the power of blood manipulation after consuming Death Paintings number 4 to 9. These were provided to him by none other than Choso, and by consuming his very own siblings, Yuji gained access to the power to manipulate his own blood. He was then trained in the art of blood manipulation by none other than Choso, and likely also helped by Noritoshi Kamo.
In the Shinjuku Showdown, Yuji utilized blood manipulation on many occasions. In the fight against Sukuna, he was able to completely shock the King of Curses when not only did he blow up the blood that he had spit on his face from a distance, but he also managed to utilize Piercing Blood, after Choso helped him with Convergence.
This was already incredibly impressive. However, Yuji truly took it to a completely new level after he managed to hit a black flash against the King of Curses. This Black Flash was able to bring out his latent potential, as well as his latent cursed technique. Much to the surprise of the fans, Yuji was able to bring out the power of Sukuna's very own cursed technique, called Shrine or Mizushi. This is an incredible cursed technique that allows Yuji to slice and dice anyone using powerful slashes.

Of course, Yuji's cursed technique works slightly differently than Sukuna's. However, it is just as effective, and dangerous as well. On top of this, Yuji also gained the ability to seemingly hit black flashes at will. He was able to hit 7 Black Flashes in a row, which was nothing short of absolutely staggering.
Yuji Utilizes Simple Domain

In JJK chapter 258, Yuji unleashed yet another technique that he had learned during the timeskip. This just goes to show that Yuji is no longer the one-dimensional fighter that he once was. He has learned quite a lot of powerful abilities, and now, he has also learned something to protect himself from a Domain Expansion. During the timeskip, Ui Ui saw to it that Yuji could swap bodies with his friends a total of two times a month, and after swapping with Kusakabe, he was able to gain access to the power of Simple Domain.

Against Sukuna, Yuji utilized the power of the New Shadow Style: Simple Domain. Along with Yuji, the others managed to protect themselves from Sukuna as well, who, at this point, had managed to unleash Malevolent Shrine once again. Unfortunately, Yuji's domain ended up breaking, however, he was still able to heal at a very fast rate, thanks to blood manipulation.
Yuji is already at a very high level and the skills that he has acquired might see to it that he beats Sukuna. However, to make him the strongest sorcerer of this generation, Yuji still has a new level to hit. This is absolutely essential, given that Yuji himself claimed that he wanted to surpass Sukuna. In fact, even the narrator said that Yuji does not intend to reach the same level as Sukuna, but actually surpass him. It is all but confirmed that Yuji will be the strongest sorcerer at the end of the series, or someone who will eventually go on to become that. As such, Yuji does have to reach a new level using a new power, and that is, Domain Expansion.

Yuji Will Unleash A Domain Expansion Soon
Yuji Itadori has progressed greatly over time in the Final Saga of Jujutsu Kaisen. However, the last missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle is a Domain Expansion. Yuji has now utilized two cursed techniques. Both of these techniques are incredibly powerful. However, in order to defeat Sukuna and truly solidify himself as the strongest, Yuji will have to gain a domain expansion. This can go in two ways. Yuji can either manifest a blood domain, which would be incredibly fascinating for the fans to see, given that he would become the first person in Jujutsu Kaisen to manifest a blood domain, or he can manifest a Domain Expansion similar to Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine. Both of these possibilities are real, and incredibly exciting. Fans should keep in mind that Yuji's body remembers Jujutsu of Sukuna, and his body should also remember things such as domain expansion, and also the likes of Divine Flames.
The chances of Yuji manifesting a domain expansion similar to Sukuna are very high. However, the author can completely trick the readers by showcasing him manifest a blood domain as well. Either possibility is going to be great, and, at the same time, require Yuji to hit the next level as a sorcerer. From here onwards, things are going to get incredibly exciting in Jujutsu Kaisen, and fans can only hope that the author does give Yuji this final power-up in order for him to reach the same level as Sukuna, dominate him, and utterly crush him, becoming the first person in history to defeat him, as well as the man who established an era of peace.
This would complete Yuji's growth as a sorcerer, and make him an individual worthy of respect of every other sorcerer. At the same time, it would solidify Yuji as one of the strongest sorcerers and see to it that he fulfills his potential. Otherwise, Yuji's unfulfilled potential will be a massive disappointment to the fans, especially because the series is now incredibly close to ending.
