The story is quite close to its end now and fans know that the role of the likes of Sukuna and Kenjaku is likely to get bigger with each passing chapter.

Gojo Satoru's character had a disappointing conclusion in JJK.

That is exactly what has happened in the story and, when it comes to Sukuna, he is only growing more in terms of both power as well as influence. He has fought against several powerful characters, even the likes of Gojo, and successfully emerged victorious. However, there is one character he's yet to defeat and he might be the last hope of the Jujutsu world against him, and this person is none other than Yuji, the protagonist of the series.

Sukuna versus Gojo was one of the most anticipated fight in the entirety of the story. This battle was teased at the very beginning of the series and, when they fought, Gojo was largely dominant and this wasn't a surprise, because Sukuna was barely strong at this point. He did not have enough power to rival with someone like Gojo and the short battle that they had was, thus, won by Gojo. Of course, this doesn't mean that Gojo was stronger than Sukuna. However, when asked about whether he could take on the fully powered Sukuna, Gojo certainly mentioned that he would be able to win. Gojo got an opportunity to test his skill against Sukuna at full power in the Culling Game arc. In fact, Gojo actually got a chance to fight against Sukuna when he had some advantages, such as Megumi's body, the power of the 10 Shadows Technique, and the fact that one of his beloved students was a hostage.

Regardless, Gojo fought incredibly well against Sukuna and actually pushed him to his very limits. He could very well have died in this battle, and even though Gojo was largely dominant, the result surprised everyone when he ended up dying. This was a rather bizarre moment in the story, largely because it didn't make much sense and was also handled very poorly, however, for the sake of the plot, that is what ended up happening and Gojo died.

Sukuna's Return To His True Form

Immediately after Gojo ended up dying, fans knew that Sukuna was going to be in bad shape and that is why Kashimo jumped into battle to test his luck against him, as he had been saving his cursed technique. He finally stepped in and utilized the power of Genju Kohasaku. This was a very powerful cursed technique that saw him push even Sukuna into a corner. Kashimo could launch powerful strikes at Sukuna and he couldn't do much to come to him. This was largely expected, given that just fought a life-and-death battle against Gojo and was reeling from a Hollow Purple attack. He was far from his full strength and, at this point, very weak. In fact, he couldn't even utilize techniques such as his Domain Amplification, or, Domain Expansion, or even reverse cursed technique. He was certainly on the backfoot here and that was evident.

That is, until he relied on his trump card. Sukuna finally managed to return to his reincarnated form. This was an ability that he could have utilized only once in battle and he did this when his back was against the wall in the fight against Kashimo. Finally, for the very first time in the story, Sukuna returned to his true form. This transformation saw to it that all his cursed energy returned to him and all his injuries were healed as well. He also received one of his cursed tools and, with that, Sukuna was now stronger than ever before. It didn't take him long to deal with Kashimo and completely obliterate him in battle.

As soon as Sukuna returned to his true form, it was Yuji and Higuruma who jumped into battle. Fans know that Yuji, being the main character, has a big responsibility here and he has to somehow take down Sukuna. The plan here is for him to throw everything that he has at him, however, they are to try a strategy by relying on Higuruma first.

Using the power of Deadly Sentencing can be very useful against someone like Sukuna so, this is a route that they are willing to take. Regardless of that, Sukuna is way too powerful for these two individuals and that is quite apparent.

However, it is up to them to stop the onslaught that Sukuna might cause and that certainly is a very big responsibility. There are also many other fighters that will likely get involved in this fight, however, at the end of it all, the biggest responsibility certainly falls on none other than Yuji, who is the main character and has the biggest motivation for defeating Sukuna. The fact that he is the protagonist and knows Sukuna the best is enough of a reason for him to be the one to finally be able to defeat him.

How Yuji Can Defeat Sukuna

When speaking of how Yuji can defeat Sukuna, fans can't think of a concrete answer just yet, however, there are quite a few hypothetical ones that will certainly aid in the battle against Sukuna. For one, Sukuna will not be at full power when and if Yuji defeats him. Sakuna will be confronted by many enemies throughout the battle and this will likely have an effect on his level of strength. If his strength lowers, then Yuji will certainly have a higher chance of taking him down. This is very important, even though it might not feel as significant at the moment. However, the biggest reason why Yuji is the only one who can defeat Sukuna is the fact that he has been his vessel.

Previously, Gojo has mentioned that Yuji will eventually get access to Sukuna's Cursed Technique. The cursed technique that he possesses could trickle down into Yuji and he could gain access to it. This also means that Yuji himself could be somewhat immune to Sukuna's attacks. Now, that certainly doesn't mean that Yuji cannot be cut by Sukuna. It just means that he has a higher resistance to these cuts than any other sorcerer. This would end up being Yuji's biggest advantage. At the same time, Yuji could then also utilize the power of Dismantle and Cleave and, possibly even the Malevolent Shrine Domain Expansion. Then, it would be a battle that comes down to pure skill.

Of course, Sukuna would have the edge here, however, if Sukuna is already weakened to quite a degree and Yuji actually manages to unlock his true potential as a fighter, then he certainly has a chance. It might be hard for him to win, but, the fact is that only he can resist Sukuna's powers and only he can bring out his true potential and defeat the king of curses.
