Megumi's importance to the story has always been of the highest order, and even now, in the Culling Game arc, he is central to the major events that are taking place. Being a member of the Zenin Clan, Megumi was always destined for greatness, and as a result, fans always had high expectations of him.

Thankfully, Megumi repaid the expectations for whatever time he got to shine in the story, and showcased his incredible fighting prowess on many occasions. In fact, Megumi even manifested a Domain Expansion, which is incredible, to say the least. That said, his domain was repeatedly mentioned to be incomplete. Despite that, this domain expansion was quite impressive, however, fans have always been eagerly waiting in anticipation to see how strong Megumi gets when he actually manages to unlock his complete Domain Expansion and take his strength to the next level.

Megumi's Chimera Shadow Garden Is Half-Baked

Megumi Fushiguro is quite a skilled fighter, and fans have seen him push his skill to the very next level on many occasions in the story. Initially, Megumi struggled with bringing the best out of his talent, which was largely down to the fact that he was always ready to sacrifice himself in the face of danger. This stopped him from getting to the desired level, and restricted him greatly in terms of what he could achieve as a sorcerer. However, once Megumi received the message, which was largely after witnessing Yuji Itadori in combat, he decided to push himself to the next level. When Megumi fought a finger bearer all by himself towards the end of JJK Season 1, that is when he managed to tap into his true powers for the very first time. Fans saw him push all his abilities to the next level, and test himself against a very powerful opponent, and he certainly did fairly well.

A future me who has surpassed his limits!

In this fight, Megumi manifested his domain expansion for the very first time. As fans might know already, his domain expansion is called the Chimera Shadow Garden. Megumi quickly mentioned that his Domain Expansion was incomplete. This meant that there was more work that needed to be done on it, and that his incredible skill could be refined even more. That said, his domain expansion, although incomplete, was very impressive, nonetheless. When Megumi utilizes his domain expansion, the surrounding area is filled with a thick black fluid out of which he could bring out the true power of his Ten Shadows Technique to the surface.

As fans know already, the 10 Shadows Technique allows Megumi to use shadows as an intermediary, and then summon up to 10 different shikigami, each with different usages, and of course, different skills in battle. Inside of Chimera Shadow Garden, Megumi was able to utilize all of his shikigami and even clone them, which meant that he could use multiple of the same shikigami in an unending chain of events. This made it incredibly difficult for his enemies to cope with him, and eventually, Megumi was even able to defeat a special grade level enemy, which is nothing short of fantastic.

Megumi Will Eventually Complete His Domain Expansion

Megumi clearly does not have a full domain expansion right now. Even when he utilized his domain expansion in the Culling Game arc, it was clear for the fans to see that it was not complete yet. However, eventually, Megumi will complete his domain expansion, and that will push him to the next level. Fans must remember that Megumi's 10 Shadows Technique is the same power that, long ago, managed to rival the combination of the Six Eyes and the Limitless, and this power will only be brought to its utmost best with the usage of the Chimera Shadow Garden domain expansion. When Megumi fully masters his domain expansion, his arsenal of weapons will be quite different. For one, Megumi will be able to manifest every single shikigami that he has tamed, and that includes even the Divine General, Mahoraga.

Bring forth the deepest shadows and don't worry about the exact form for now. Just push it forward from your focused cursed energy.

Given that he can clone his shikigami inside his domain expansion, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Megumi could potentially be able to clone Mahoraga as well, which means that instead of there just being one Mahoraga, there could be multiple Mahoraga inside his domain expansion, with each of them trying to adapt to the opponent's abilities, and attacking them on their own. This in itself would make Megumi one of the strongest individuals in the entirety of the story, and of course, then, fans also need to consider the fact that Megumi would have a sure-hit attack as well.

At the moment, Megumi's domain expansion is quite strong, however, he does not have a sure-hit attack just yet. Given that nearly all domain expansions have a sure-hit attack, except for the non-lethal ones, Megumi will most likely have one of his own. As to what it is yet, fans do not know. Perhaps, Megumi can choose what attack he wants to utilize as his sure hit, which is somewhat similar to how Yuta can make one of his copied techniques a sure-hit attack inside his domain.

Yuji has recently gained a new awakening in Jujutsu Kaisen.

When taking all of this into consideration, it is clear for the fans to see that Megumi, upon completing his domain expansion, will be one of the strongest individuals in the entire series. On top of that, if he manages to learn skills such as reverse cursed technique, and other skilled applications of anti-domain techniques, then Megumi will surely be one of the strongest individuals in the entire story. He still has a long way to go before he fulfills the potential that Gojo mentioned he has, however, he's surely on the path.

Will Megumi Get A Chance To Complete His Domain Expansion?

Megumi Doesn't Have Long Left To Fulfill His Potential

While it is clear to the fans that Megumi's completed domain expansion will make him one of the strongest individuals in the series, the question remains as to whether Megumi will even get the time to complete his domain expansion in the first place. As fans know already, Megumi is currently in the possession of Sukuna. Sukuna has completely taken over his body, and Megumi has even lost the will to live on further, which was confirmed recently in the story. Furthermore, JJK does not have all that long left, which means that with Sukuna's defeat, the story will most likely conclude.

Taking all that into consideration, it is incredibly hard for fans to see Megumi reach high levels of power or even do something like complete his domain expansion. Megumi is likely not in any condition to continue fighting. And, when one adds the fact that the author is actively looking to end the story later this year, then, him getting the chance to complete his domain expansion lessens even more.

At this point, it is safe to say that Megumi might never be able to complete his domain expansion. His mental state, along with the state of the battle right now, and the limited time that JJK has, all combine to show that this might not be possible, unfortunately. Still, what fans know for sure is that Megumi certainly has the potential to reach sky-high levels as a sorcerer. Whether he's able to do that or not is something that only the author can answer later down the line.
