It goes without saying that even though this battle was long and dragged out in many ways, it was packed with intense action, and managed to keep all the fans on the edge of their seats. One of the most exciting aspects of this incredible battle was the various domain clashes between Gojo and Sukuna. In fact, these two ended up having five domain clashes, and failed on the sixth attempt. All these domain clashes were absolutely incredible for the fans to see, which is precisely why they are being broken down here.

Gojo Vs Sukuna Domain Clashes

Gojo And Sukuna Went For Domain Clashes Again And Again

The domain clashes between Gojo and Sukuna began right from the beginning of the battle. Once these two started fighting, it didn't take them long to resort to the usage of domain expansions. Fans already know that domain expansions are the pinnacle of any Jujutsu ability. Without domain expansions, a sorcerer cannot bring out the true potential of their cursed technique. Given that Gojo and Sukuna stood at the top of the era, it was no surprise for the fans to know that both of them had incredibly powerful cursed techniques, and at the same time, overpowered domain expansions that could hardly be matched by anyone in the entire series. Both Gojo and Sukuna resorted to using domain expansions on multiple occasions, and it is safe to say that these domain battles lived up to all the expectations.

Overall, Gojo and Sukuna had five different domain battles. One might wonder as to how they were still level after five domain battles, however, when the sorcerers are of the caliber of Gojo and Sukuna, then, one simply needs to understand that they operate on a completely different level when compared to the other sorcerers of the world.

How Sukuna Triumphed Over Gojo In Domain Clashes

Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine Caused Issues For Gojo At The Beginning

The very first domain clash between Gojo and Sukuna was quite exciting. At this point, my fans did not know what to expect from this domain clash. Simply put, both Gojo and Sukuna expanded their domains. Once they did that, it was clear that Malevolent Shrine and Unlimited Void were equally matched. In fact, Gojo proclaimed that in terms of their techniques alone, his Unlimited Void was far superior to Malevolent Shrine. However, the problem with facing Sukuna was the fact that he was dealing with an open barrier domain. Sukuna's range was absolutely incredible and he could easily attack Gojo's domain from the outside. Because of that, Gojo could not do much and his domain broke. Sukuna launched an absolutely full-throttle attack, and Gojo was caught in a plethora of slashes. It almost felt like Gojo would die right there, however, using full-throttle reverse cursed technique, he was able to survive this attack as if it was nothing.

Ah, I'm glad! With regards to cursed techniques, my Limitless is overwhelmingly stronger!! – Gojo Satoru

Gojo then refilled his burnt-out cursed technique with his reverse cursed technique, and once again, utilized the power of Unlimited Void for a second time. This time around, Gojo changed the conditions of his domain both inside and outside. To deal with this, Sukuna used a Binding Vow and essentially turned off the sure hit of his domain inside of Unlimited Void. Instead, he strengthened the attacks from the outside, which allowed him to break Gojo's domain externally for the second time using powerful slashes. Once again, the victory belonged to Sukuna.

In round 3, both Gojo and Sukuna went at it once again. At this point, one would wonder as to why Gojo was simply trying again and again. However, knowing what kind of a sorcerer Gojo was, he would only figure out a solution to dealing with Malevolent Shrine once he put himself to the test again and again. The third time, Gojo made significant progress. Gojo once again expanded his domain, and unleashed Unlimited Void. Sukuna did something similar. However, this time around, Gojo shrunk the barrier of his domain tremendously, to the size of a basketball. This is something he picked from being inside the Prison Realm. Gojo was using his experience from the time he spent inside the realm to create this ultra-small domain.

Essentially, this allowed him to strengthen the outside of his domain significantly. To counter this, Sukuna also reduced the size of his domain, and increased the power of Malevolent Shrine from the outside. Sukuna was able to break Unlimited void once again, however, Gojo was able to deal enough damage to Sukuna inside the domain that his Malevolent Shrine shattered as well. This domain clash ended up being a tie. Now, it was clearly obvious that Gojo was getting closer to his victory.

The fourth round between Gojo and Sukuna was similar. This time around, Sukuna opened his domain after refilling his burnt outburst technique, which is something he picked up from Gojo. However, he was clearly not as good as Gojo when it came to this art. Regardless, he was successfully able to gain Malevolent Shrine once again, and Gojo unleashed Unlimited Void as well. After 3 minutes of incredible battle, both of their domains ended up breaking, and once again, it was a tie.

Maybe, just maybe, Gojo Sensei expanded his domain slightly earlier? – Yuta Okkotsu

The fifth round was the most significant. Both Gojo and Sukuna used their reverse cursed technique to refill their burnt-out cursed technique. However, Gojo did it faster, and Sukuna ended up opening his domain slightly later than Gojo. Clearly, Gojo was at an advantage, and here, after 2 minutes and 40 seconds, Gojo ended up destroying Malevolent Shrine and landed a perfect Unlimited Void hit on Sukuna.

Gojo could essentially have finished the battle right here, just as he was planning to do. However, Mahoraga ended up saving Sukuna as it had already adapted to Unlimited Void. Because of the Divine General, Gojo's domain ended up breaking, and even though Sukuna took quite a lot of damage, he survived this domain clash, but Gojo got a clear victory in the end.

Both Gojo and Sukuna tried to expand the domains for the sixth time, however, due to the former having refilled his burnt-out cursed technique a lot more than sukuna, he hit his limit and could not expand his domain anymore. He started to bleed profusely from his brain, and, as a result, Sukuna had a clear advantage, or so one would think. Just as Sukuna tried to end this battle with his domain, it was made clear that even spending a small time within Unlimited Void was enough to fry his brain completely. Sukuna could not expand his domain either, and the sixth domain clash between these two was essentially canceled.
