Jujutsu Kaisen: How Strong Is Yuta In Gojo's Body?

Yuta will give Sukuna a tough fight in JJK. How strong is he really with Gojo's body?

In this chapter, fans were left disappointed in some ways, but at the same time, there was quite a lot of excitement surrounding the return of Gojo Satoru, or to be more specific, Yuta in the body of Gojo. Fans had a lot of exciting stuff to look forward to, which made this a very unique experience as far as JJK goes.

Yuta's Return To The Battlefield

Yuta Okkotsu Used Gojo's Body To Return To Battle

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 picked up right from where the previous one left off. In last week's chapter, fans got to see Sukuna about to unleash his domain on Todo and Yuji. Had he been able to expand his domain, both of them would have died right there and then. There was no way that Todo would have been able to swap out of Sukuna's range, and at the same time, it would have been incredibly hard for them to survive yet another powerful blow from the King of Curses, given that they barely managed the last one. Essentially, had Yuta not arrived on the battlefield right here, the fight could have been over. Thankfully, the person in front of them who was labeled as the ghost of Gojo made a big impression and even Sukuna couldn't believe his eyes. He killed this individual with his own hands, so he knew that it couldn't have been Gojo.

After a while, he was able to tell that his instincts were right and the person standing in front of him was actually none other than Yuta Okkotsu. Sukuna apologized for underestimating him previously, and he did not know that he could actually go on to cast his humanity aside to become a monster. This makes Yuta the same type of individual as Gojo and Sukuna, given that all of them are monsters in their own right. As soon as Gojo opened his eyes, it was clear to see that he had stitch marks on his foreheads.

My apologies! It seems I've underestimated you. I didn't think you were capable of going this far…Okkotsu Yuta!

Fans might have thought that this was Kenjaku at first and that would have been a fairly good guess. Many fans had predicted that it would be Kenjaku taking control of Gojo, however, this chapter of JJK revealed that it was not Kenjaku but Yuta, which makes things all the more exciting.

Of course, upon seeing Yuta in Gojo's body, fans naturally wondered as to how this was even made possible in the first place. Thankfully, the author, Gege Akutami, provided a proper answer to the fans as far as this problem goes. According to what was shown in JJK chapter 261, Yuta and the Sorcerers had already decided on doing this before the battle between Gojo and Sukuna even began. Now, while this is certainly great as far as planning ahead goes, it also goes to show that a lot of the Sorcerers did not believe in Gojo as much as they should have. That certainly doesn't paint a good picture for the strongest, and just goes to show that many were thinking about Gojo's loss more than they were thinking about his victory.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Reveals How Gojo Came Back

Gege shocked fans with Gojo's return in JJK. Here's what actually happened.

Then again, the opponent was the strongest sorcerer in history, and one could argue that it was absolutely essential that they had a proper plan. Regardless, what Yuta decided was that if Gojo fell, he would be the one to take over his body. The other sorcerers were opposed to this simply because it was way too dangerous for Yuta. However, he correctly pointed out that Gojo was always the one making sacrifices for them and he became a monster for the sake of the students. Nobody really cared about him in the first place and if he fell, someone would have to go ahead and do the right thing.

Yuta can only use his Copy technique for as long as Rika is fully manifested, which is 5 minutes. What happens after those 5 minutes are up?

JJK chapter 261 then went on to explain how this process came about in the first place. First, Gojo and Sukuna clashed. Of course, this battle ended with Gojo's defeat and he was sliced into by the King of Curses. After that, Yuta went to eliminate Kenjaku. It is highly implied that Todo helped him do this, and as soon as Kenjaku was dead, Rika helped Yuta gain the cursed technique of Kenjaku. With his Copy ability, Yuta could essentially make use of Kenjaku's power. Then, Yuta tried to end the battle against Sukuna by himself in his own domain. Clearly, he failed at doing that, and this led to him being sliced in two as well, just like Gojo.

Moments before his original body ended up dying, Yuta was transferred to Gojo's body, which was stitched up by this point. He opened his eyes as Gojo and used full throttle reverse cursed technique to heal the body and fix it up for battle. Then, he was transported to the battlefield, where he stood in front of Sukuna.

Yuta And Sukuna Clash

Malevolent Shrine and Unlimited Void Go Head To Head Again

JJK chapter 261 also saw Gojo and Sukuna clash once again. Of course, the one inside the body of Gojo is none other than Yuta. Regardless, this clash was quite an exciting one, as it started with a domain expansion from both sides. Once again, fans are seeing Malevolent Shrine versus Unlimited Void after a while, and this is certainly very exciting.

A domain clash would be very problematic for the likes of Yuta, and this is down to the fact that Sukuna uses an open-barrier domain. Gojo used very innovative ways to counter that, such as changing the specifics of his domain to shrink it down and strengthen the inside. However, it seems that Yuta will try something different. JJK chapter 261 also gave fans a proper look at a conversation between Gojo and Yuta, where the former made it clear that he did not mind him using his body after he fell on the battlefield.

At the same time, it was made clear that Yuta was actually born under better circumstances than Gojo, since he has connections to both the Sugawara and the Fujiwara families. This might just be the key for Yuta to unlock an open barrier domain as well, and that could help him tackle the threat of Malevolent Shrine. Things are going to be incredibly exciting from here onwards, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next.

Sadly, Jujutsu Kaisen will not be dropping a chapter next week. Fans will have to endure a 2-week long wait before the next chapter of JJK is available. However, the wait is certainly going to be worth it.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, is set to be June 10, 2024.
