Highlights

  • Yuta now controls Gojo's body and is gearing up for a domain clash with Sukuna, armed with Gojo's knowledge on countering Malevolent Shrine.
  • Gojo's method of shrinking his domain to neutralize Malevolent Shrine served as a critical turning point in his battles against Sukuna.
  • The possibility of Yuta manifesting an open barrier domain could greatly weaken Sukuna and change the course of the upcoming battles in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen might just be in its most exciting phase right now ever since the battle between Gojo and Sukuna wrapped up. This is somewhat amusing, as the current battle that has led to massive hype is actually one between Gojo and Sukuna once again. However, only this time, the one in charge of Gojo's body is none other than Yuta. This fight has already begun, and on the last page of the previous chapter, both Yuta and Sukuna expanded their domains.

Yuji has many powerful attacks in JJK. Here are the strongest that he's mastered over time.

This is just the beginning and things are only going to get more interesting from here onwards. Fans are in for a massive fight of gigantic proportions, which they certainly are not ready for. More importantly, given that this fight is starting with the domain clash, there is a chance of Yuta manifesting an open-barrier domain.

The Domain Clashes Between Gojo And Sukuna

Gojo And Sukuna Went Toe To Toe In Domain Clashes

When Gojo fought Sukuna, fans know that they engaged in many domain clashes. In fact, domain clashes were incredibly intense between these two, and much of that was down to the fact that both Gojo and Sukuna are masterful users of domain expansion. In terms of the ability itself, Gojo proclaimed that Unlimited Void was far superior to Malevolent Shrine. In fact, this was after Gojo took a direct hit from Malevolent Shrine, and as such, his words certainly hold weight. However, in the very first few domain clashes, Gojo struggled quite a lot.

This was simply down to the fact that Malevolent Shrine’s range is far greater than that of Unlimited Void. This is once again due to Malevolent Shrine having no barrier, but at the same time, a massive range. Essentially, even though Gojo was able to make a powerful domain, and both of their techniques nullified each other, Sukuna was able to attack the domain from the outside due to his range being much more, leading Gojo's domain to break. This allowed Sukuna to land his hit on Gojo, and do damage. The second time around, Gojo reinforced his barrier much more up, however, once again, he was not able to withstand the power of Malevolent Shrine from the outside, due to Sukuna making a Binding Vow.

Maybe, just maybe, Gojo Sensei expanded his domain slightly earlier?

Gojo then reduced the size of his domain dramatically, and by doing so, he was able to reinforce his barrier much more. Sukuna did something similar, reducing his barrier size to increase the power of the hits from the outside. Both the domains ended up canceling each other out, and this one was a tie. The fourth round was just the same as the third round, and the fifth round was won by Gojo, as he managed to open his domain slightly before Sukuna, who was not as good at refueling his burnt-out cursed technique. Gojo managed to land Unlimited Void on Sukuna, dealing tremendous damage to him. However, because of Mahoraga, Sukuna was saved.

After this, neither Gojo nor Sukuna were able to open their domains and this was simply because both of them had sustained tremendous damage. Gojo's brain was bleeding at this point, while Sukuna had his brain fried by Unlimited Void. However, around this time, Gojo had already found the answer to countering Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine.

How Gojo Figured Out The Counter To Sukuna's Domain

Gojo Knew How To Deal With Sukuna's Domain Effectively

Gojo ended up finding the counter to Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine by trying to expand his domain again and again. The first time he did this, his domain crashed. The second time, he lost once again. The third time, they ended up tying their battle, and the fourth one was a tie as well. However, the fifth round was where Gojo ended up getting his first win. This was simply down to the fact that Gojo managed to expand his domain slightly before Sukuna.

After 2 minutes and 40 seconds, Gojo was able to completely destroy Malevolent Shrine, and hit Sukuna with the sure hit effect of Unlimited Void, dealing deadly damage to him. By this point, Gojo had figured out how exactly to defeat Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine, and if the domain battles had continued, Gojo would have one once again.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Gege Bringing Back Gojo Using Yuta Could Be A Big Mistake

Gege bringing back Gojo as Yuta’s puppet might have been a bad choice in JJK. Here’s why.

Essentially, Gojo shrunk down his domain to the size of a basketball, and when he did that, he was able to nullify Malevolent Shrine and prevent being hit by the sure-hit effect of Sukuna's domain. However, that is essentially what led to a stalemate. In JJK chapter 262, it was clearly stated that Gojo had figured out the counter to the open barrier of Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine. This implies that Gojo actually knows the truth about how to counter this domain, but he didn't get to put that into practice because he could not expand his domain anymore after the fifth time.

Can Yuta Manifest An Open Barrier Unlimited Void?

The Key To Beating Sukuna Could Be An Open Barrier Unlimited Void

Now, Yuta is in control of Gojo's body and he has already expanded Unlimited Void once again. These two are headed for another Domain Clash, but this time, Yuta knows how to counter the domain. One great thing about Yuta having Gojo's body is that he has all his memories and experiences. As Gojo figured out how to counter Malevolent Shrine, this information was directly passed on to Yuta. This means Yuta now knows how to get around it. Essentially, the solution to countering Malevolent Shrine could be to manifest an open barrier domain.

What I'm saying is you might have been born into a higher family than me, so if you don't succeed spectacularly, it'll look bad.

Of course, this is not an easy feat, given that only two individuals in the entire series have manifested an open barrier domain. However, if there's one individual who can go on to pull it off, it is Gojo – specifically Yuta in Gojo's body. In the previous chapter of JJK, Gojo implied that Yuta is from an even higher bloodline than Gojo himself; this means he might actually have better circumstances than Gojo to manifest an open barrier domain. Of course, nothing is set in stone, however, the chances for Yuta to manifest an Open Barrier Unlimited Void are certainly there. If he manages to do that, then, Yuta's Unlimited Void will be superior to Malevolent Shrine, which was confirmed by Gojo himself, and this would weaken the King of Curses greatly.

Of course, nothing is set in stone. Fans do not know if Yuta will be able to land his hits on Sukuna or not. However, one way or another, he will be able to break Malevolent Shrine and do what Gojo could not do. For this reason and many others, fans should keep in mind that the upcoming domain clashes between these two monstrously powerful individuals are going to be incredibly amazing. Thankfully, JJK is just around the corner now, and fans can simply rest easy knowing that they have an incredible battle headed their way.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, is set to be June 10, 2024.
