JJK is going on hiatus for a couple of weeks due to Gege's health. Here's everything fans should know.

At the same time, with JJK being in its very last year of serialization, fans know that a popularity poll was inevitable at this point. JJK has held a total of three popularity polls before this one, and all of them were exciting, with different results. Of course, much of the popularity of characters depends on what arc is focusing on what characters, and the recent popularity poll has certainly surprised quite a few. The 4th popularity poll began not so long ago, and its results, although not fully announced, have been declared.

Megumi Fushiguro Finishes 3rd

The Genius Of 10 Shadows Technique Drops Down In Ranking

In the 4th popularity poll of Jujutsu Kaisen, Megumi Fushiguro took third place. Megumi was previously first on JJK's popularity poll, and this isn't a surprise to many fans. Megumi has been shafted for the vast majority of the last year in the manga. Ever since Sukuna took over his body, fans have not gotten to see even a bit of this individual. Megumi has also suffered quite a bit both physically and mentally, however, the biggest problem for his character has been the lack of screentime. He was essentially used as a tool by the author to showcase more of Sukuna. In fact, it was his body that was used as the basis for Sukuna's resurrection. Now, Megumi needs saving, and given that he has been cut out from the story for so long, it is understandable why he has lost his previous spot.

Still, Megumi finishing third isn't much of a surprise to the fans. This character is very charismatic, and alongside Yuji, he has driven the plot in fantastic ways. Megumi is also very exciting in terms of power, and at the same time, the relationship that he shares with those close to him makes him even more likable. Had Megumi been focused on in the story in ways other than being a vessel for Sukuna, it is possible that he might have actually taken up a higher spot on the list. Still, finishing third is quite an achievement for him when his actual screen time has been very limited, and fans are grateful for that.

Yuji Itadori Drops To 2nd Place

The Protagonist Of JJK Maintains His Position

The protagonist of the series, Yuji Itadori, takes second spot in the 4th popularity poll of Jujutsu Kaisen. Yuji was previously ranked second on the popularity poll, losing out to Megumi Fushiguro. Once again, the protagonist of the series loses out to a different character this time around, and fans are somewhat disappointed in that regard. Yuji is quite an interesting character; however, fans would argue that on many occasions, he has failed to set the world alight and make the stage his. That said, the author has focused a lot more on his character in the last year or so, and fans even got to see him fight against Sukuna brilliantly. Yuji managed to deal quite a lot of damage to him and, at the same time, awakened newer powers as well. Despite everything that Yuji has done against Sukuna, he still managed to only finish second in the popularity poll.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262: A Very Short Chapter

This JJK chapter was on the short end. However, Sukuna lands heavy attacks on Yuta.

To be fair to him, much of Yuji's development came long after the popularity polls even began, so fans might not have voted for him, knowing that he was on the sidelines around that time. Still, for the main character to lose out on popularity polls twice isn't a good sign. Overall, while Yuji is an interesting guy with some exciting ideals, he is not the face of the series and has not been that in quite a while.

There are many other exciting characters in JJK that fans have come to love over the years, even more than the protagonist, which, although sad in some ways, is a testament to the author's ability to write an exciting cast of side characters, as long as they are male.

Gojo Satoru Wins The Popularity Poll

The Strongest Takes Top Spot On The Popularity Poll

Unsurprisingly, the winner of JJK's popularity poll is none other than Gojo Satoru. Previously, Gojo was 3rd in the popularity poll. However, these polls might not very well reflect Gojo's popularity, especially overseas. Gojo has always been the most beloved character in JJK for the vast majority of the people, and at the same time, he has taken the world by storm in many ways. Sadly, Gojo was sealed away in Shibuya for quite a while, which certainly affected his popularity, just as Megumi being a vessel for Sukuna has affected his. Gojo getting unsealed has certainly done wonders for his popularity. His charisma, his powers, along with his goofy nature see to it that he keeps on accumulating fans with each passing day and enters the hall of fame as one of the most iconic anime characters of all time.

Throughout Heaven and Earth... I Alone Am the Honored One - Gojo

Gojo fought against Sukuna after being unsealed and this battle was certainly phenomenal. It saw him showcase his entire skillset and, in many ways, push Sukuna against the wall. Had it not been for the 10 Shadows Technique, perhaps Gojo would have won this battle. However, the odds were always against him. Despite losing his life, Gojo is still the most popular JJK character, given that he actually ended up dying last year, and this year, he still stands as the most popular character in the entire series. Gojo Satoru has always been the face of Jujutsu Kaisen, and that will be the case until the very end of the story.

Of course, fans might be wondering as to what the positions of their other favorite characters are. Sadly, at this point in time, fans only know the top three positions in the 4th popularity poll of Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans will have to wait for quite a bit in order to see the full list. There might be quite a few surprises in the list. This is especially down to the fact that the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of JJK has focused on quite a lot of exciting characters.

New characters, such as Hiromi Higuruma and Kashimo, among others, will most likely have moved up the rankings. At the same time, old characters who have been prevalent in the raid on Sukuna, such as Maki, possibly Yuta, and Hakari, among others, will definitely have taken a solid place on the list as well. Overall, there is a lot of excitement still to be expected, as the full list is yet to be revealed. Fans can only hope that their favorite characters were voted for as well and that they took up exciting positions on this list.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 263, is set to be June 30, 2024.
