A special grade cursed spirit born from the hatred of humans, Mahito is one of Jujutsu Kaisen's main antagonists who play a vital role in the development of the main character Yuji Itadori. Mahito also leads a group of cursed spirits.
This consists of Hanami, a cursed spirit born from the human fear of land-based natural disasters, Dagon, a cursed spirit born from the fear of water-based natural disasters and finally Jogo, a strong, arrogant and angry cursed spirit. Together the group's main goal was to rid the world of humans and to create a world where cursed spirits roamed free.
Appearance And Personality
Although Mahito appears to look human, he is far from it, with his stitched up face and soulless eyes, Mahito is the embodiment of what a powerful cursed spirit would look like in human form. In the series, Mahito is seen to be a sadistic and cruel cursed spirit who enjoys tormenting humans. He also believes in eradicating all humans and has no guilt when it comes to tormenting them. When it comes to his behavior and personality, Mahito is more laid back and playful rather than angry or arrogant. He is also able to manipulate humans who harbor strong feelings of hate or sadness, this is seen when he is manipulates Junpei and eventually kills him by transfiguring him into a grotesque creature during his fight with Yuji. Mahito also appears to have a similar personality to Satoru Gojo and always appears to be relaxed and calm regardless of the situation, however, Gojo makes up for his laid back ness with his immense power. Mahito is however shocked when Yuji first lands a powerful punch on him and is surprised that Yuji was capable of inflicting damage on him.
Special Grade Cursed Spirit Energy
As a special grade cursed spirit, Mahito is initially seen as an extremely powerful cursed spirit and his power equals the power of three of Sukuna's fingers. He also possesses insane amounts of speed and this is seen during his battle with Yuji and Nanami as he was able to keep up with the two of them. His technique of being able to transfigure his attacks as well as those he touches is an extremely dangerous cursed technique which he uses to showcase what he is capable of. His battle intelligence and tactical intellect also gives him an edge as he is able to think fast and use his transfiguration powers at will when needed.
Thanks to his transfiguration technique, Mahito is also able to create clones of himself to take on multiple people at once. His strength and power is immense and is even more powerful when enhanced by his idle transfiguration technique as well as black flash. His immense speed and reflexes also play a key role in determining how powerful he is. he was able to fight at immense speeds and used his quick reflexes to dodge and counter-attacks from both Yuji and Nanami. His high intellect and deduction skills are exceptional as he is able to estimate the power of his opponents by interacting with them the first time. He is also smart enough to know when he is almost defeated and makes the decision to escape.
Due to his soul being extremely resistant to damage, Mahito is strong enough to withstand powerful attacks and does not go down easily, He also possesses large amounts of cursed energy and is able to control it with ease to the point at which he could use black flash at will. Mahito's cursed technique known as - idle transfiguration gives him the ability to transfigure souls and force them to do his bidding. He is also able to transform himself into anything he wants depending on the situation and is also able to heal himself thanks to his cursed technique.
Mahito can also create transfigure humans into a powerful being that can attack his opponents using a technique known as polymorphic soul isomer, this transfigured human that is created is believed to be as strong as a grade 2 or 3 cursed spirit. Mahito's final form is known as instant spirit body of distorted killing, this monstrous form was created when Mahito discovered the true essence of his soul thus unlocking an extremely powerful and stronger body. This form is believed to be 200% stronger than his original state and is capable of tearing the ground apart with just shock waves. In terms of defense technique, Mahito is able to use a barrier technique known as curtain, which allows him to create a barrier to seal off an area to stop anyone from getting in. He also is able to execute a domain expansion technique known as self-embodiment of perfection, where he is able to automatically connect with whoever is trapped inside giving him the opportunity to transfigure them at will.
