Every so often when starting a new anime, audiences may get a bit preoccupied with the thought of whether or not a character's voice sounds familiar or not. The pool of voice actors in the realm of anime often overlaps with one another, so it's not uncommon for two fan favorites from two completely different series to share the same voice actor behind the scenes.

Gojo Satoru's voice actor is renowned in the VA industry, and these are some anime he has featured in.

In the case of Jujutsu Kaisen's Geto Suguru, fans may have noticed a few instances where the familiar voice popped up in other well-known anime series. For any Jujutsu Kaisen fans of the Japanese dub or the English dub, here are some popular animes where Geto's Japanese voice actor, Takahiro Sakurai, and English voice actor, Lex Lang, have made an appearance.

Updated on April 20, 2024, by Christine Mendoza: Despite being long gone in the series, Geto's physical being remains a huge part of the JJK story. Antagonist Kenjaku still inhabits Geto's body, using him as a puppet to accomplish his bidding. Although it is really Kenjaku in Geto's body, he still possesses Geto's original voice. However, many fans still know the difference, and with pseudo-Geto still playing a big role in the series, many Geto fans have been missing the real him. To soothe any mourning fans, a few new entries have been added, showcasing more of Sakurai and Lang's versatility and range. Although the real Geto isn't around anymore, fans can at least indulge in the sounds of his soothing voice in a few choice anime series.

Not only did Sakurai voice Cloud in Last Order, but he also voiced him in the Advent Children film as well as in Kingdom Hearts for Cloud's quick cameo appearance.

Flashy Flash is an S-Class, Rank 11 professional hero in the world of One Punch Man. He isn't all sparkle just for show, his power and ability can easily back up any big talk he happens to dish out. He is a master swordsman and has the bad habit of talking down to any heroes who are of lower rank than himself, seeing them as not worthy and assuming the position of their superior.

Flashy Flash's raw strength almost levels that of Saitama and his speed and agility would give even the villain, Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, a run for his money. Lang's vocal interpretation of Flashy Flash is akin to a much more arrogant Geto.

Akiteru is the older brother of Karasuno High's middle blocker, Kei Tsukishima. Akiteru, despite lying to Kei about his position on his team, helped Kei through his journey of becoming a better volleyball (and team) player.

Sakurai doesn't change the tone of his voice when playing Akiteru, making him sound similar to Geto. However, the main difference in their voices is their energy. Instead of using Geto's lethargic (yet charming) way of speaking, Sakurai makes Akiteru sound more lively and energetic.

Teuchi is the owner (and founder) of protagonist Naruto's favorite ramen shop, Ramen Ichiraku. While many of the adults around Konoha see Naruto as a bit of a brat or pest, Teuchi is always kind to him, considering he is one of his best (and most loyal) customers.

When playing Teuchi, Lang uses a much more jovial voice, matching the ramen master's jolly and warm personality toward his customers. Lang's voice is rather difficult to point out in Naruto as Teuchi's cheery voice is miles different from the calm and cool tone he uses for JJK's Geto.

Although there is a slight hint of Sakurai's Geto in Ayame Sohma's voice, his overall attitude and intonation are vastly different between the two series. Fruits Basket's Ayame Sohma is the older brother of deuteragonist Yuki Sohma and serves as the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac among Fruits Basket's famous cursed Sohmas family.

Ayame is incredibly flamboyant, using highly animated gestures with a dash of feminine glam. His cadence when speaking reflects this, making Sakurai's rendition of Ayame virtually unrecognizable as the same voice behind JJK's Geto Suguru.

7 English VA: Anjuro "Angelo" Katagiri

Series – Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakable Anjuro Katagiri
  • First Aired: November 19, 1993
  • Studio: A.P.P.P.
  • Based on manga written by Hirohiko Araki

Anjuro is better known as "Angelo" and is a criminal turned Stand User in the world of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable. While many villains can be redeemable and may have their reasons for their actions, Angelo is a villain whom just about everyone can agree is an abhorrent antagonist with absolutely no good in him and his overall character.

When voicing the incorrigible villain in JJBA, Lang deepens his voice in a gruff, intimidating way, fitting for the terrible character Angelo. Lang's Angelo voice heavily contrasts the light, calm demeanor Geto has and could easily slip under the radar even to diehard JJK fans as characters that share the same voice actor as they sound nothing alike.

Sakurai's voice for Demon Slayer's Giyu Tomioka isn't too far off from Geto's voice. Giyu and Geto have a similar tone and cadence in their voices and share the same calm demeanor. Giyu, unlike newbie protagonist Tanjiro, is a skilled and experienced demon slayer and even serves as the current Water Hashira.

The Hashira are humanity's last line of defense against demons. Here's how every single one of them ranks based on their strength.

Giyu is often stoic, has a "no-nonsense" attitude, and focuses on work and his morals above all else. However, every so often, his fellow Hashiras (especially Shinobu) get the best of him with their playful teasing, bringing out his less serious side. Giyu are rather similar in their overall attitudes, making Sakurai's voice fairly easy to recognize in Demon Slayer.

5 English VA: Ryosuke Takahashi (Ry)

Series: Initial D

Initial D Ryosuke Ry Takahashi
  • First Aired: April 18, 1998
  • Studio: Studio Comet, Studio Gallop
  • Based on manga by Shuichi Shigeno

Ryosuke Takahashi is the leader of the RedSuns in the Initial D series. Ryosuke is a skilled driver who not only has impressive skills in the driver's seat but also in the shop as a mechanic. His talent behind the wheel has given him the spotlight and led both him and his younger brother, Keisuke, to be featured in driving magazines.

While voice actor J Michael Tatum voices Ryosuke in the Funimation dub of Initial D, Lex Lang takes the role in the Tokyopop dub. Because of Ryo's overall calm and level-headed demeanor, Lang's voice is not too hard to catch as the same voice behind JJK's Geto Suguru as the two characters carry a similar temperament.

Reigen is the deuteragonist of Mob Psycho 100 along with Mob (real name Shigeo Kageyama) himself. While he may be a bit on the plain side in terms of his appearance, he makes up for it with outstanding charisma. Sakurai generally keeps a similar tone to Geto when voicing Reigen. However, their personalities don't align at all, making their cadence differ quite a bit at certain moments.

Reigen's charismatic, highly animated attitude gives him an energetic yet monotone voice. Mob Psycho 100's self-proclaimed "Greatest Psychic" may be easy for JJK fans to pick out as the voice of Geto as Reigen's voice sounds like Geto Suguru on three cups of coffee and a goofier attitude.

Sakurai took on the role of one of the most controversial anime characters of all time in both the Berserk trilogy films as well as the 2016 adaptation. Contrary to Geto, Griffith has a bit of a feminine way of speaking, one that makes him seem both elegant and royal. Sakurai's rendition of Griffith fit the villain perfectly, giving him a calm and soft-spoken demeanor with a bit of an underlying sense of threatening narcissism in his voice.

It seems as if the bond between Geto and Gojo surpasses any universe as Geto's Japanese voice actor, Sakurai, voiced Berserk's Griffith in the 2016 adaptation while Gojo's English voice actor, Kaiji Tang, played the role opposite Griffith, voicing protagonist Guts in the 2016 English dub.

Many viewers may not have realized it, but Lang was a part of many anime fans' journey since childhood. Lang lent his voice to a handful of different Digimon throughout the original series English dub run from 1999-2006. JJK fans can now go back to their favorite Digimon episodes with the new knowledge that when Agumon finally Mega Digivolves, he is in fact voiced by curse user Geto Suguru.

Any avid JJK fans wouldn't be blamed for not being able to point out Lang's voice in the Digimon series as the Digimon he voices typically have incredibly deep, gruff voices, made to sound tough, unlike the very calm and quiet demeanor Lang uses for Geto.
