These sorcerers could go above and beyond the rank of Special Grade.

Quite a lot of characters have actually ended up dying in the Culling Game arc, but only a few can be classified as major deaths and these are characters that fans really ended up liking and, at the same time, believe to be special in more ways than one.

Ryu Ishigori

Killer: Sukuna

Ryu Ishigori was a sorcerer from 400 years ago who was reincarnated for the Culling Game by Kenjaku. He fought against some very powerful sorcerers, such as Yuta in the Culling Game arc. However, it wasn't Yuta who ended up killing him. His death came at the hands of none other than Sukuna. After Sukuna took over the body of Megumi, Ryu ended up facing him in battle and was dismantled in a few moments.

Although Sukuna's first attack on him did not give him the desired results, he put more effort into the next one, slicing his head into three parts and killing him in the process.

Iori Hazenoki

Killer: Kenjaku

Iori Hazenoki also took part in quite a lot of fights in the Culling Game arc. Although he was certainly not the star of the show at any point in this arc, he was one character that fans were secretly rooting for. Unfortunately, he met his end recently at the hands of none other than Kenjaku.

When these two confronted each other, Hazenoki realized that he was completely outclassed and tried to create a distraction so he could escape. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't enough and he ended up being killed, which later set the stage for Takaba and his fight against Kenjaku.

Reggie Star

Killer: Megumi

Reggie is another important character in JJK that met his end in the Culling Game arc. He was clearly not a character who served a major purpose in the overarching plot of the series, however, he was still important when it comes to the Culling Game arc.

Reggie ended up fighting against Megumi, who probed at him for quite a long time and ended up dealing a deadly blow with Totality. In the end, that is how he felt and his legend came to an end.

Yuki Tsukumo

Killer: Kenjaku

Yuki Tsukumo was a Special Grade Sorcerer who fans believe to be one of the strongest to have ever lived in the world of JJK. Her strength was absolutely immense and she was chosen to protect Tengen from none other than Kenjaku.

Unfortunately for her, the fight against Kenjaku proved to be very difficult. While she dominated the fight for the vast majority of it, she still ended up being defeated and, subsequently, killed. The person who had the last laugh was none other than Kenjaku as he succeeded in his goals after crashing Yuki in battle.

Naoya Zenin

Killer: Maki

Naoya Zenin returned as a vengeful spirit in the Culling Game arc. Prior to this, he was defeated by none other than Maki. It shouldn't be a surprise to any fan that Naoya returned as a Vengeful Spirit.

It has already been made clear in the story that quite a lot of Sorcerers return as Vengeful Spirits. For Naoya, it was the same. He returned quite strong and fought bravely, however, in the end, Maki took him down once again, this time for good, since he got exorcized.

Kashimo

Killer: Sukuna

Hajime Kashimo in Jujutsu Kaisen

Kashimo was one of the strongest ancient sorcerers who took part in the Culling Game arc. He made it his goal to fight against Sukuna right from the beginning and he certainly met his heart's desire eventually.

Kashimo was hiding his Cursed Technique for the entirety of the Culling Game arc, but eventually, he brought out this power, called Genju Kohasaku, against Sukuna and did land some deadly blows on him. However, it proved to not be enough as Sukuna ascended to the next level as well. He used the power of reincarnation to bring back his true form and once he did that, the battle was over before it even started for Kashimo. Sukuna sent a powerful net of Dismantle towards Kashimo and this ended up killing him, completely decimating him in the process.

Tsumiki Fushiguro

Killer: Sukuna

Tsumiki Fushiguro was one of the most important characters in the Culling Game arc. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that this character was at the center of this arc because saving her was one of the main goals of the main characters. However, in a very weird writing decision, Tsumiki was killed off by the author as well.

Her body was taken over by Yorozu, who then decided to fight against Sukuna. Of course, she could not defeat Sukuna in any way and eventually ended up falling to him in battle. Both Yorozu and Tsumiki ended up dying. What made it even worse was the fact that the one who actually killed Tsumiki in the end was Megumi, since it was his body that Sukuna was possessing.

Gojo Satoru

Killer: Sukuna

By far, the most significant death in the Culling Game arc of JJK was that of Gojo. After he was unsealed, Gojo had to fight against Sukuna, and this is the clash that fans have been waiting ages for. Finally, the strongest modern sorcerer was up against the strongest sorcerer in history. This fight was clearly the best that fans had seen in the entirety of JJK and it certainly lived up to the expectation, for the most part.

Gojo was dominant for the vast majority of the fight and should technically have won the battle. However, it was Sukuna who had the last laugh as he evolved in the middle of the fight through some very questionable means that not all fans agree with. At the end of the day, regardless of whether the fans liked it or not, it was Gojo who ended up being defeated and his body was chopped in half.
