Jujutsu Kaisen is a story by Gege Akutami that debuted on 5th March 2018 in the weekly shonen jump. Jujutsu Kaisen is one the best manga out right now due to its well-written characters, intricate power system, brilliant plot, and impressive fights making up some of the best arcs you can ever read in manga. It has a total of eleven arcs right now, with the eleventh one currently ongoing as of chapter 222.

7 Death Painting Arc
This arc follows the first years on their second mission as they investigate a series of deaths at Megumi’s former school. This curse has a 100% killing record and Megumi’s sister might be on its list of targets. The first years decide to exorcise the curse wreaking havoc but they aren’t the only ones looking to exorcise this curse as Mahito’s group sends the death painting brothers, Eso and Kechizu, after the curse.
As the first years get to Yasohachi Bridge to exercise the curse, they are interrupted by the death painting brothers. This arc dives into Megumi’s character a lot more, explaining his childhood and relationship with his sister. This arc also solidifies Yuji and Nobara’s friendship, due to the events they go through together.
6 Itadori Extermination Arc
Following the catastrophic events of the Shibuya Incident, the Jujutsu world and Japan were changed forever, and the secret execution of Itadori that was suspended is now back in effect and special grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu was tasked with exorcising Itadori.
The arc reintroduces Yuta back into the story and also introduces Naoya Zenin, cousin of Maki Zenin and son of Naobito Zenin, the head of the clan. Naoya is currently looking for Megumi due to clan politics and decides to take advantage of the news about Itadori’s execution. As Itadori and Choso continue exorcising the cursed spirits roaming around Japan, they have no idea that Yuta and Naoya are close by with the same objective in mind, to kill Itadori!
5 Perfect Preparation Arc
After Itadori’s death has been successfully faked again, the students have no time to rest as Pseudo Geto has started the Culling games at the end of the Shibuya Incident, a battle royal between newly awakened sorcerers and reincarnated sorcerers with Megumi’s sister, Tsumiki Fushiguro among the former. The students decide to meet the omnipotent sorcerer, Master Tengen, for information on Pseudo Geto, the purpose of the culling games, and how to stop it.
After gathering information, Yuta Okkotsu enters the Sendai colony of the culling games, Itadori and Megumi try to recruit Tokyo Jujutsu High third-year, Kinji Hakari for help, and Maki return to Zenin clan to get weapons, but there is already a conspiracy in place at the Zenin clan to kill Maki, Mai and Megumi.
4 Shinjuku Showdown Arc
After Satoru Gojo gets unsealed and Ryoumen Sukuna gets a new body, they set the 24th of December as the day for their showdown. The fight that fans have been anticipating since the second chapter is finally here. The showdown between the strongest sorcerer of the present and the strongest sorcerer from the past.
This arc is still ongoing, with the readers and the Students watching closely to see who would come out on top. The way both fighters have been pushing each other is a spectacle to behold as they are constantly trying to one-up each other by showing different abilities breaking the boundaries of Jujutsu. Fans all over the world are reading and theorizing every week, trying to predict who would come out on top.
3 Gojo’s Past Arc
This arc explores Gojo’s time in high school, giving fans an insight into how he lived his life as a youngster. As best friends Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, who were the strongest at the time, were given a mission to protect a star plasma vessel Riko Amanai and safely deliver her for the merger with Master Tengen. But different groups are after Riko for different reasons and one of them hires the sorcerer killer Toji Fushiguro to assassinate Riko.
The arc answers the questions fans have been asking for a very long time, “What happened between Gojo and Geto, causing them to go their separate ways? Where is Megumi’s Father?” among other questions. This arc is the first arc in the second season, and anime-only fans are in for a thrilling ride.
2 Culling Games Arc
The longest arc in the manga lasting 64 chapters, the culling games is Jujutsu Terrorism on a scale never seen before, orchestrated by Kenjaku for over a thousand years, with the sole purpose of accumulating enough cursed energy to merge the people of Japan with Master Tengen. This arc pits past and present sorcerers against each other, and the students of Jujutsu High are forced to participate as they want to save Megumi’s sister and stop Kenjaku.
The character writing, the fights, the storytelling, and the plot twists are some of the best we have ever seen in the story. Each colony elevates each student, all while reintroducing some new fan favorites like Hajime Kashimo and Ryu Ishigori, among others, into the story.
1 The Shibuya Incident Arc
On the 3rd of October 2018, the cursed spirits alliance and Geto Suguru’s plan to seal Satoru Gojo was finally set in motion as the sorcerers make their way to Shibuya to stop them with no idea of what was going on. This arc was the worst-case scenario for the jujutsu society and humans because this was a turning point in the series, as the consequences of this arc are still evident after over 50 chapters.
This arc has been described by many fans as a masterpiece, and it’s easy to see why as the storytelling, character developments, and fights are some of the very best in the manga.
