Suguru Geto is a heinous individual who has no respect for the powerless. This causes him to go down a dark path where he tries to force the world to bend to his will by eradicating all non-sorcerers around and creating a new world.
This causes him to see Maki, a person with little to no cursed energy, to be completely useless. It's a statement that irritates Yuta to no end, compelling him to refuse Suguru's proposal of union and fight against him with all his strength.

Near the end of the movie, Gojo and Geto share a moment where they discuss their past and how their paths change. This is where Suguru explains his rationale behind wanting a world where only the people who can sense cursed energy should live.
It's certainly twisted, but this scene does its job of trying to humanize a character who has been unequivocally bad throughout the series. The fact that his outlook on the world was so screwed up that he snapped and killed people without a care is pretty disturbing indeed.
