Jordan Peele's recent sci-fi thriller film Nope has received lots of applause since it hit theaters. Now, Peele has just revealed that the Universal film's story might not be completely over just yet.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Peele addressed the fact that there was a character credited on the Universal movie's IMDB page as "Nobody." The character was said to be portrayed by actor Michael Busch, who did appear in the film's trailer. This prompted many theories to circle among fans about Nobody's significance in the Nope universe and about the future of the film franchise.

“The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that,” Peele alluded to in regard to Nobody. He went on to add, “Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future. We’re not over telling all of these stories.” This statement has caused many to think Peele was teasing the possibility of a sequel to Nope. Brandon Perea, who starred in Nope alongside Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, joined in with teasing the chances of a sequel by sharing Peele's statements on Twitter with eye emojis, causing fans to speculate about the future of Nope even further.

With Peele making it clear that the story Nope unveiled to audiences is in no way over, that means that a sequel could definitely be on the way in the near or distant future. The chance of a potential sequel has caused tons of excitement among Peele's ever-growing fan base, who have become extremely invested in the director's work since the release of his blockbuster Get Out. The Academy Award-winning Get Out managed to confront the topic of racial bias while incorporating the horror genre and chilling cinematography to make the story even more intriguing.

Now that there's potential for a Nope sequel, Peele fans will continue to see these stories be brought to life on the big screen. Although there’s no concrete confirmation, as things begin to pick up speed Peele will definitely confirm or deny whether he’s going to go through with the sequel film. Considering the critical success and box office success of Nope, a sequel has a very high chance of being just as successful, and it may be even more profitable than its predecessor.
