Avengers 5 is reportedly eyeing Coleman Domingo as Jonathan Majors' Kang replacement, and one She-Hulk star shared their thoughts on the latest recasting rumor.

Majors was set to be the main villain of the two upcoming Avengers films that Marvel Studios had planned. Since the decision was made official, fans online have been abuzz with predictions about Majors' Kang replacement.

One fan-favorite choice for the role is Domingo, who recently voiced the powerful Transformers villain Unicron in 2023's Rise of the Beasts and has now gotten the endorsement of at least one person in the Marvel camp. Taking to her official social media account on X, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Ginger Gonzaga showed her support for the prospective casting by tweeting out, "Oh how I would love for these #ColemanDomingo as #Kang rumors to be true! And I hope the writing for him is dynamic as is he as a performer. 🤍#mcu." The response from other social media users was generally supportive, with many alluding to Coleman's impressive villainous performance in Transformers.

The discourse surrounding the potential Kang recasting for Avengers 5 has been in overdrive since the verdict was handed down in the Majors case, with one online jokester even suggesting Gonzaga's MCU character be put in the role as a variant. Gonzaga, who portrayed She-Hulk's paralegal and primary supporting character Nikki Ramos on the Disney Plus show, is likely not the only person close to the franchise looking Domingo's way, and his consideration for the role could be real if Marvel Studios decides to go down the recasting route of, as rumors suggested Domingo was being eyed as Majors' Kang replacement days before Gonzaga's statement.

While the idea of a charismatic replacement is favorable, the Kang angle might have fallen out of favor at the company when Marvel Studios decided to boot Majors post-judgment after months of silence on the issue in the hopes that it would blow over. Now that the role has been negatively affected by legal issues, Marvel Studios has several other options. These options may be more appealing than taking the risk of replacing the actor and potentially harming the future of Avengers 5 and the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the Fantastic Four rapidly approaching and possibly bringing Galactus and Doctor Doom along for the ride, there are at least two worthy replacements for the big bad of the Multiverse Saga right there, and a host of other options that could slide into the antagonist role with relative ease.

Despite the possibilities, there won’t be any official confirmation of a direction until plans for the film are clarified. While Avengers 5 has already lost director Destin Daniel Cretton, it is currently unknown how the project will change based on Majors' departure. Whether Avengers 5 will be salvaged as is or moves in a new direction will go a long way to settling the MCU's future.

Avengers 5 is in development at Marvel Studios.
