During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, producer Kevin Wright delivered insights into the Loki season 2 finale and its potential impact on everyone's perception of Majors' Kang the Conqueror in upcoming Marvel projects. Wright said, "I'm going to tread probably infuriatingly lightly, but for me — and I know all the filmmakers agree — we think everything is there on screen. I think all the details are there, and there is a lot that people haven't picked up on, or haven't fully understood what is being said." The producer also emphasized that attentive listeners will find all the answers they seek by closely examining Sylvie's conversation in the final episode.

The key to the future is in that conversation with Sylvie, and this doesn't necessarily undo any of those threats. In my mind, it's what Sylvie said: 'At least give us a chance. Let us fight that battle for ourselves and define our own destiny.'

Kang the Conqueror blasting blue energy in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania

Upon the initial announcement as the antagonist in Ant-Man3 movie, it remained unclear if Majors' Kang the Conqueror would evolve into the next significant threat in the MCU. This ambiguity persisted, mirroring the secrecy surrounding his role in Loki season 1, despite being cast in the show beforehand. After Avengers: Endgame concluded the Infinity Saga, the MCU franchise introduced new characters in Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The recent movies made it clear to the audiences which heroes would headline the upcoming phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Meanwhile, the production giant made everyone wait until the Loki season 1 finale to let them know that Kang will be the next big villain of the MCU. However, seeing how Kang's story moves forward from here will thrilling. Majors has portrayed the character with exceptional precision in both seasons of Loki and Quantumania. Nevertheless, many still hold the belief that Kang's storyline had the potential to be more extensive and impactful, potentially surpassing the threat posed by Thanos.

Marvel Studios retains the flexibility to take Kang's character in various directions, positioning him as a formidable adversary among MCU villains. His slated appearance in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty suggests ample potential to explore numerous menacing iterations of Kang in the MCU.
