Despite the great work from the studio, though, there are certain areas where the manga comes out on top. It is common knowledge that the manga is the most authentic source of information for any series. Every scene from the manga is canon, which is why it holds such a high value. Like many anime adaptations, the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure show tends to extend certain scenes or introduce new scenes altogether.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it provides the viewers with a good experience. Viewers get to watch extended fighting sequences, which adds to the thrill. But at the end of the day, these scenes cannot be used in a debate about the series itself, especially if a person is trying to defend their favorite character. So, a person who prefers not to have any filler content should read the manga for StoneOcean instread of watching the anime.

4 There's Less Censorship

JoJo'sBizarreAdventure has its fair share of violence and gore, which been shown to be important parts of the series since Phantom Blood. The anime obviously has a wider reach than the manga, and because of this studio has to take a lot of things into consideration. Many viewers are not comfortable with too much gore, so the studio has censored some of this in the anime.

For example, in StardustCrusaders, whenever Jotaro took out his cigarette and started to smoke, there would be a blackened area around his mouth. Likewise, throughout StoneOcean, there are scenes that the audience might find disturbing; however, there are fans who believe that all the strong themes add to the quality of a series. The manga does not hold back when it comes to showing fights that are filled with violence. To enjoy the material without any censorship, the manga is the way to go.

3 No Waiting

The anime for StoneOcean has been out for a while on Netflix, but so far just twelve episodes have been released. It is going to take some time before the anime finishes Jolyne's story. It is very likely that StoneOcean will be at least 30 episodes long, with the previous two parts having close to 40 episodes. This makes it clear that it will be a long tome before the anime wraps up. Some fans may want to be able to finish the series without having to wait for the new episodes.

For the time being, it is possible to watch the first twelve episodes. On the other hand, the manga for StoneOcean is complete, which means that it can be read without waiting for the release of the next chapter. If a person cannot wait for the next episode, it is much better to read the manga as they will not have to wait.

2 Araki's Art Style

Bohemian Rhapsody and Weather Report

David Production has done an incredible job at adapting StoneOcean. The filters, music, and voice acting have been extremely impressive, and fans of the series have thoroughly enjoyed the episodes so far. The anime does provide a great experience thanks to the combination of several elements.

While the manga may not have the animation or music, it does have Araki's unique art. Araki's artwork has improved by leaps and bounds since the time that he wrote PhantomBlood. With each passing JoJo part, Araki strived to improve his art. StoneOcean in particular has outstanding panels, which make it one of Araki's better works. So, people who prefer artwork to animation should read the manga.

1 Stand Names

Jolyne and Stone Ocean from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

The first few episodes of StoneOcean anime made it clear that the anime would be altering the names of the Stands. Jolyne's Stone Free is called Stone Ocean in the anime, Weather Report is Weather Forecast, and Manhattan Transfer is Downtown Transfer. The change in the names is because of copyright issues. The studio cannot risk using the original names, so they have to modify the names of the Stands.

On the other hand, the manga has the original names. There are many fans who have complained about the change in the names of the Stands. Every name that Araki picks is a reference to a band, song, or another person, and the modification of names removes the essence from that character or the Stand. The manga is the only way to properly enjoy the names that Araki has given to the Stands.
