JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is one of the biggest and most popular anime franchises in the world. Hirohiko Araki started working on the manga all the way back in 1987, and he is still writing chapters, which are released every month in Shueisha's Ultra Jump.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has many unique qualities, with the biggest one being how it is divided into multiple parts. Each JoJo part is distinctive, and it consists of different heroes and villains. The division has given Araki creative freedom and allowed him to produce some of the best-written stories known to anime and manga fans. Another special feature of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is how each part is set in a different setting. Araki's choice when it comes to the location affects the story a lot. With that in mind, here are the best settings in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

5 America (Battle Tendency, Stone Ocean, Steel Ball Run)

Steel Ball Run Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli together

Hirohiko Araki has used America as the setting for many of his stories, but Steel Ball Run stands head and shoulders above all of them. It is based in the 1890s, a time when gunslingers and horses were quite common. Gyro and Johnny traveled to different places all over America. They rode through a desert, a beach, and many cities. During their adventure, the duo encountered many dangerous people sent by Funny Valentine, the president of the country. Toward the end, there was an old-fashioned train chase, which was reminiscent of cowboy movies.

Battle Tendency started in America but moved to other places quickly. The main highlight was Joseph's battle with Straizo on a bridge in New York. Stone Ocean was based inside the Green Dolphin Street Prison in Florida. Araki went into great detail about every place in the prison, so it didn't feel small. After Jolyne broke out, the part showcased other locations, including Kennedy Space Center.

4 Italy (Battle Tendency, Golden Wind)

Golden Wind is the fifth part in the JoJo series, and it follows the adventures of Giorno Giovanna, who tries to change a notorious gang from within. It is set in Italy, but it is not the first time Araki has chosen Italy for the setting of one of his stories.

Joseph Joestar visited Italy at the behest of Speedwagon to learn about Hamon from Lisa Lisa. Joseph and Caesar stayed in Venice for a considerable amount of time and made sure to master Hamon before facing the Pillar Men. The city's design and architecture were nicely replicated in the Battle Tendency. In Golden Wind, Giorno and his group explored Naples, Sardinia, Pompeii, and Capri. They also went to Rome and fought inside the Colosseum. Overall, the imagery was stunning, and the series went into great detail to give the audience a taste of what Italy feels like.

3 Japan (Diamond Is Unbreakable, JoJoLion)

Morioh town from JoJo

The fourth installment in the series is Diamond is Unbreakable. It was the first part that completely focused on Japan. Diamond is Unbreakable is set in the fictional town of Morioh, a normal-looking town that hides some big secrets. The town is said to be inspired by Sendai, Hirohiko Araki's hometown. Josuke and his friends explore the entire city and begin to uncover many mysteries. Morioh has many interesting attractions, such as Anjuro's Stone, which was created by Josuke.

There is also a tower that is armed with a Stand. The most special thing about the town is Ghost Girl's Alley, which acts as a border between the realms of the living and dead. If a human enters the alley and looks back, their soul is dragged away by the spirits. JoJoLion is also set in Morioh, and it also has many memorable places, with the most noteworthy being Higashikata Estate, TG University Hospital, Shakedown Road, Wall Eyes, etc.

2 England (Phantom Blood)

The Joestar Family's multigenerational feud with DIO started in Phantom Blood. The part is set in Victorian England, and it has many elements of that particular era, including cobblestone roads, carriages, and foggy streets.

DIO was also at his malevolent best in the story. He was unhinged and didn't care about the consequences of his actions. He created an army of vampires and forced them to do his bidding. Aside from DIO, there were also other terrifying characters who perfectly complemented the eerie setting of Phantom Blood. Unfortunately, the part is too short, so there aren't many notable locations.

1 Egypt (Stardust Crusaders)

After Holly Joestar fell ill, Jotaro and Joseph had no other option but to travel to Egypt. What should have been an incredibly simple plane trip ended up becoming an incredibly dangerous one across the world. Jotaro and his group traveled to many countries and took down many of DIO's goons before finally making a stop in Egypt.

Araki tried to imitate the real-life location as much as he could. The Nile, the pyramids, the markets, and also Stands based on Egyptian mythology made the part thoroughly enjoyable. Jotaro and his group explored various cities, such as Luxor, Cairo, Kom Ombo, and Aswan. While Araki could have definitely gone into more detail, it is plausible to assume that he didn't want to drag out the part.
