If John Wick: Chapter 4 triggered the blues for many moviegoers, then the newly released trailer for The Continental might cure that, as the spinoff paints Winston's rise among the High Table's ranks as a disco-themed story coming this September to Peacock and Amazon Prime Video.

Plans for the John Wick franchise were well in place before John Wick: Chapter 4's ending shocked fans, though that has not stopped Lionsgate's producers from speculating about the Baba Yaga's fate in the movie. Nevertheless, there’s no reason to discuss John Wick 5 so eagerly now that the first teaser for Peacock's The Continental series has come out, with the film Ballerina also on the way for next year.

After sharing The Continental's first official poster yesterday, Peacock/Lionsgate followed up with an exclusive look at John Wick's world in the 1970s, all to the tune of Donna Summer's “I Feel Love. In the preview, viewers will get a proper look at Colin Woodell as Winston Scott. This preview also delivered the news that The Continental's three episodes will be coming to streaming on Peacock this September in the United States, though not exactly when, with the miniseries premiering on Prime Video in other markets.

The synopsis for the series labels The Continental as a “three-part event” that will unravel some of the mysteries behind the assassins' hotel. However, it also gives some clues on Winston's past by saying the future manager will “face a past he thought he’d left behind” in New York's underworld. For fans, seeing a John Wick gold coin and those bloody sheets will take them back to some of the film's iconic scenes.

The Continental producers have teased one of the show’s main goals is to continue developing the ideas and concepts already existing in John Wick. However, that doesn't mean the series won't deliver plenty of action to go along with it. Woodell will be joined by the likes of Mel Gibson (who’s nowhere to be seen in the trailer) and Mishel Parada, Ben Robson, Mishel Prada (KD), Ben Robson (Frankie), Hubert Point-Du Jour (Miles), Nhung Kate (Yen), Jessica Allain (Lou), Jeremy Bobb (Mayhew), Peter Greene (Uncle Charlie), and Ayomide Adegun as a young version of Lance Reddick's Charon.

John Wick 4 is well on its way to surpassing Parabellum's box office performance, so The Continental is bound to be a popular series, even if Ana de Armas' Ballerina will be the one true connection to the main saga thanks to expected cameos from Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, and the late Reddick.

The Continental is scheduled for release in September 2023.
