Comedian John Mulaney has signed a deal to bring two new comedy specials to Comedy Central, it has been confirmed. The four-time Saturday Night Live host who also wrote for the show, is a highly in-demand star, having found success on Netflix and on the big screen.

Comedy Central has revealed that John Mulaney will be starring in and executive producing two more comedy special as part of the Sack Lunch Bunch series. The first Sack Lunch Bunch, a Netflix musical comedy special, was released in 2019. The Comedy Central specials will bring back the child actors and singers who featured in the Netflix version. One of these specials will be "holiday-themed," said Comedy Central.

Mulaney's popularity has risen over the last two years thanks to his work on Netflix and in movies. Several of the comedian's specials, including his second special New in Town, are available on Netflix. Screenshots from these specials have grown his fanbase. He also voices a lead character in Netflix show Big Mouth, the critically-acclaimed animation series.

In 2018, Mulaney also provided the voice for Peter Porker, or Spider-Ham, a character seen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It's unclear when Mulaney's two Comedy Central specials will air, but with the comedian's filmography being so varied and so widely available, fans will be able to rewatch and laugh lots until the new shows are released.
