Jesse Plemons is the latest to sign onto Martin Scorsese's newest thriller Killers of the Flower Moon. The Apple Studios film already has some big names attached, with Scorsese favorites Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro previously confirmed to star.

The new Scorsese thriller is based on David Grann's bestselling non-fiction book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. It tells the true story of a series of murders of the Osage Native Americans set in Osage County, Oklahoma in the early 1920s. The book follows the newly formed FBI and their investigation of these crimes. Plemons is set to play the lead FBI investigator on the case, while De Niro is tied to a villain role and DiCaprio as De Niro's nephew, who is married to an Osage Native American woman.

Plemons has been a rising star in recent years, best known for his role in FX's Fargo. He also had a prominent role in AMC's Breaking Bad and previously worked with Scorsese in 2019's The Irishman. Most recently, he starred in Charlie Kaufman's mindbending Netflix Original I'm Thinking of Ending Things and he's currently on the big screens in Judas and the Black Messiah, which is getting a lot of Oscar buzz. Later this year, Plemons is to appear in Disney's new Jungle Cruise film based on their classic theme park ride.

Killers of the Flower Moon is part of an ever-growing group of Apple Originals, fully produced by Apple Studios and premiering on Apple TV Plus in addition to receiving a theatrical release. Apple Studios has been releasing original films steadily throughout 2019 and 2020, with Palmer starring Justin Timberlake released most recently. Next month, Apple is releasing the new Russo brothers crime drama Cherry starring Tom Holland, and there are two other films with release dates set for next year. Besides Killers of the Flower Moon, there are currently eleven other Apple Originals currently in production.

Scorsese crime dramas generally do very well with both critics and audiences, so fans are giving this new film a lot of attention. With such an impressive cast and a highly acclaimed novel as its source material, this one should be another hit for everyone involved, and likely a big success for Apple Studios.

Killers of the Flower Moon has not received an official release date at this time.
