James Gunn continues to tease fans about the future of the DCU. While on Twitter recently, the co-CEO of DC Films revealed that a few new characters would be joining the cinematic universe.Gunn took over as co-CEO of DC Films alongside Peter Safran. The two have since begun to restructure the existing DCEU, with The Flash set to be a soft reboot of the universe. Gunn interacts with fans on social media quite frequently - though he often is cryptic while doing so - and it's no surprise that he chose to tease this new iteration of the DC Universe on Twitter.RELATED:Dave Bautista Explains Why He Probably Won't Play Bane In James Gunn's DC UniverseGunn responded to a tweet by Bleeding Cool in which the website was promoting their article "8 DC Heroes We Hope to See in Live-Action Films". "Would 4 of 8 do?" Gunn said cheekily. The eight heroes listed by Bleeding Cool were: Nightwing, Terra, the Jon Kent iteration of Superman, Arsenal, Green Lantern Corps member Kyle Rayner, Vixen, the Cassandra Cain iteration of Batgirl, and Static.

Gunn has previously revealed that some of DC's new projects were in the works before he even signed on as CEO. That means that these new additions to DC's roster might have been in the works for a while - possibly as far back as Walter Hamada's tenure as CEO. It also means that it might just be possible to speculate about what characters could be making an appearance soon.

Given that Gunn has clarified that Superman and Batman's ages would differ, and that Gunn has also said that Batman might be a few years older than Superman, it's unlikely that Jon Kent is coming to the universe anytime soon. Superman is said to be about 25 years old in the new DCU; this would mean that his son probably won't be born for another few years. On the other hand, an older Batman means that Nightwing and Cassandra Cain could easily show up as members of the 'Batfamily'.

The possible appearance of Nightwing could also mean the Teen Titans aren't far behind. If this is the case, then perhaps their most famous story - "The Judas Contract" - could be adapted into live-action for the first time ever. Terra could then possibly round out to Gunn's fourth new character. Until Gunn reveals more about the future of the DCU, fans can only speculate about which characters they'll be seeing around next.
