Jagged Alliance 3 is a complex strategy game in which players must control a group of mercenaries as they seek to free the captured president of the fictional nation-state of Grand Chien. Players must manage their finances and inventory in addition to the battlefield strategy of their team. One key component of doing is ensuring that any excess items are sold in order to make room for better gear, as well as helping to fund increasingly better Mercenaries.
In order to sell items, players must first liberate a zone with a major settlement inside it. The first and easiest to get to will be the Fleatown Market. Once all enemies are defeated, this will become a friendly zone in which players are free to explore and trade as well as converse with the locals. Many market stalls will sell weapons and ammunition. Players must be careful not to accidentally click on these unless they mean to, since doing so will automatically purchase whatever the stall is selling. Similarly, there will be one stall which buys Scrap from the player, and this is the only way in which regular items can be sold.
Scrap
For regular items such as Weapons or Gear, they can only be sold once they have first been converted into Scrap. This can be done via the player Inventory, where players can simply select the item they wish to sell and select 'Scrap' from the dropdown menu. Once this has been done, Inventory space will be freed up and the Scrap can be sold at a Market. Although this is not necessarily a convenient or obvious way for players to trade their spare equipment, it does make things easy to deal with since the only thing to worry about will be the currency of Scrap.
Each piece of Scrap can be sold at a rate of 30 for $500 to the vendor, but it can also be used to repair certain equipment provided that players have a mercenary with a high enough Mechanic skill. If not, they can simply employ another Mercenary when the current squad's contracts expire, or alternatively they can read/buy magazines in-game to boost the character's skill level.
Diamonds
It is no secret that Diamonds are the major trade of Grand Chien, at least among certain aristocrats, and players will encounter plenty of them on their way through Jagged Alliance 3. In addition to mining them, players can buy and sell them among a variety of traders throughout the game. These traders will often be characters with additional side-missions for the player to complete, and will tell the player their price for buying and selling, which will vary from one character to the next.
This can be extremely profitable if done correctly, and any diamonds players acquire through their currently-held mines should be sold to these characters. Players will also sometimes come across briefcases full of diamonds, which can be sold via the inventory screen in the same way that items can be converted to Scrap.
