To many fan's delight The Jackbox Party Pack 9 is officially confirmed to be released this Fall, with five more games attached to the classic series. Since 2014, Jackbox Games has been adding annual installments of the Jackbox Party Pack to its catalog, the most recent being The Jackbox Party Pack 8 - making Jackbox Party Pack 9 the latest of many entries in the series.

Undoubtedly, The Jackbox Party Pack 9 is already setting high expectations, as it is bringing back a fan favorite mini-game and four never-before-seen games. On top of this, a new moderation feature will allow players to kick others from the lobby or from within the game, which could be extremely helpful for streamers and those just wanting to keep the peace. After all, it is well known that party games can get a little out of hand, depending on who is playing.

Zany New Games Are on The Way

Fibbage 4

Roomerang - As with past Jackbox Party Pack trailers, Roomerang and the other new mini-games are shown in action for fans to get an idea of what it's about. This game will focus on role-playing elements, along with responding to prompts. In a reality TV setting, players take on the personas of their characters and must act out their parts and answer questions like their characters would. In five rounds, the goal is to gain status and avoid being eliminated by others. Answers receive points if other players like it, followed by a vote on who to eliminate.

Fibbage 4 - Fibbage 4 will be the newest chapter to the popular Fibbage franchise, arguably one of the best mini-games out there, which originated in the first The Jackbox Party Pack. This game is set to be similar to its predecessors as it will remain a trivia-style bluffing game. Players will receive a true fact that they must fill in the blank for, with the hopes of tricking the other players that their answer is there real one. Excitingly, Fibbage 4 is coming with a couple of fun additions, which include the Fibbage: Enough About You mode that was first seen in Fibbage 3, Fibbage Fan Questions, additional question categories, a new Final Fibbage, and even themed episodes. It will also demonstrate the new Cookie's VHS Vault feature, which will showcase video clips from old films.

Nonsensory - Nonsensory is a fresh take on a drawing and writing game genre that has players guessing something, a bit like the multiplayer Drawful which was seen in The Jackbox Party Pack 8. In this title, however, people will be guessing each other's secret numbers. The game host is Professor Nanners, a cute monkey in a lab coat that is hoping to help players strengthen their NSP (Nonsensory Perception). With prompts that ask "can you draw a puppy that's only a 3 out of 10 on the adorableness scale," laughter is sure to ensue as other players try to guess what the number is. The closer they are to the right number, the more points they will receive.

Junktopia - The fourth game announced to be in the bundle is Junktopia, which has been described by some as a more relaxed version of Quiplash. Players, transformed into frogs, are expected to write a funny backstory for unusual objects which they find in a wizard's store. In order to be returned to humans, people are expected to sell these objects by writing hilarious descriptions or stories for them, and the best answers will be voted to the top by their peers.

Quixort - The developers at Jackbox Games are well-versed in creating trivia games, such as Trivia Murder Party, Lie Swatter, and You Don't Know Jack. Quixort will fall into the same category, but acts as a challenging multiplayer game that divides players into teams where they must work together to complete prompts correctly. To do this, they must place falling blocks in the decided-upon order, putting as many down as possible before space runs out. For example, Quixort may ask a team a prompt like "put these planets in order from closest to the sun, to farthest from the sun," which may cause chaos to ensue if people's opinions differ. The game will be guided by adorable mini robots that help steer blocks to the right place.

For those that aren't as keen on a team-based mode, they have the option to enable the single-player Quixort Forever where they will be able to see how many blocks they can place before topping out. Just like in the main game, placing wrong answers down will remain where they were dropped. While fans wait for Jackbox Party Pack 9 to arrive this Fall, perhaps in mid or late September, they can always return to the mayhem and fun that comes in previous packs.

The Jackbox Party Pack 9 is in development for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
