There's LEGO everywhere. What's this? There's toy blocks in the air. Or at least on this table. Reddit user TheDarkonaut clearly has an eye for the twisted wonder of Tim Burton, as proven when they took to the LEGO subreddit to show off their re-creation of Jack Skellington's house from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The attention to detail is astounding. Everything from the classic Burton-style dead tree (seriously, he seems to enjoy dead trees like Michael Bay enjoys explosions) and even to the smoke billowing from Jack's chimney is rendered with intricate care and stunning accuracy. What's perhaps most impressive is how well they captured the ramshackle appearance of the house given the generally very uniform and precise nature of LEGO blocks.

Now, as to be expected given how this isn't an official LEGO building set, TheDarkonaut did end up taking some creative liberties. For one, the exact shape and design of the house appears to have been condensed, likely in order to avoid becoming too unwieldy to pick up without catastrophe. Certain elements, such as the second floor balcony (or is that just a window?), are absent from this interpretation, though it doesn't detract from the overall look, and any casual observer will most definitely still identify the model as Jack's delightfully disordered dwelling. Plus, the little LEGO skeleton heads strung around the entrance gate are an adorably macabre touch, regardless of accuracy.

This is far from the first time the world has seen a LEGO version of something beloved. Fans of all ages have been utilizing the surprisingly versatile building blocks in their creative endeavors for decades, from simple builds all the way to complete stop-motion reconstructions of entire movie scenes. In fact, this build of Jack's house, while undoubtedly impressive and remarkably detailed, seems rather tame in comparison to other, more eccentric designs made by fans over the years.

But that shouldn't detract from the undeniable excellence of TheDarkonaut's design. The satisfyingly rendered stone wall around the gate, Zero's dog house, and even the tiniest addition of Jack and Sally LEGO figures stationed on the steps all come together to capture the creepy yet oddly comforting vibe of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Truly, the creative mind of a fan will always be a wonderful place.

Whether it be from the latest fan-made creation or a surprisingly official release, it seems that the artistic possibilities of LEGO provide for eternal entertainment. Here's hoping for even more lovingly crafted tributes. How about a LEGO reshoot of that first fight scene from The Old Guard? That would be cool and not at all morbid, right?
