The following contains spoilers for Episode 13 of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? Season 4, "Morgue (Victim)" now streaming on HIDIVE.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? is back with Episode 2 of Season 4 Part 2, after it left viewers at a hair-raising cliffhanger in the previous episode. While not much has changed for the Hestia Familia’s fate, there does seem to be some progress in their overall horrid state of affairs. Considering the current pace of the series, a few revelations are also expected related to the unexplained phenomenon that have taken over Babel.

Although things started to look hopeful for Bell Cranel and the rest of the Familia in the first episode, the narrative has suddenly shifted back to that of gloom and despair, as hopelessness has taken over both parties. The situation within the dungeon may seem bleak, yet there might be some hope within Orario as news of the Familia’s entrapment has set off among other adventurers. It's only a matter of time before the other Familia band together to venture into the deeper floors. Until then, it's up to Bell and the rest of the party to manage their survival.

Hestia Familia Vs. Amphisbaena

Amphisbaena Vs Hestia Familia

The previous episode centered around the twin-headed dragon, Amphisbaena, and its fight with Hestia Familia and the rest of the party. Although it initially seemed that the party had gained the upper hand in the fight by the end of episode 1, yet the tide of battle soon turned around, leaving the entire party in a fray. The party had immobilized the monster initially with debris from the ceiling, yet it wasn’t enough to keep the tenacious dragon under control for long. With a thunderous roar, Amphisbaena summoned smaller sea creatures from under the lake, making matters worse for the already worn out party.

Even with Amphisbaena’s back-up, the fight seemed to be under control, but matters took a turn for the worse with the dragon’s surprise attack as it swam up the waterfall and plunged into the lake, severely debilitating the entire team. While everyone remained accounted for, one member went missing – Mikoto, who got violently bit by the Piranha-like creatures as they dragged her into the deepest pits of the lake.

Mikoto wasn’t the only member of the team to take a grave hit as Haruhime jumped in front of the blue napalm to save Cassandra and Liliruca, getting blasted by the blue flame in the process. The episode concluded before their fates could be revealed, even hinting towards their demise, however, it's still too early to reach such a daunting conclusion, meaning fans will have to restlessly wait another week before they can find out about the abysmal result of this battle.

A Morgue Within The Deeper Floors

Bell and Ryu's Despair

Continuing from where the previous episode left off, Bell and Ryu face off an unexpected monster as they try to leave the floor. The two desperately try to outrun it, yet their wounded state bars them from doing so, forcing Bell to use a magic spell. His Fire Bolt misses the monster and hits the ceiling above it instead, crushing it under the debris and blocking off the area.

Ryu suddenly gains consciousness after they barely survive, and she forces Bell to move on without, calling herself dead-weight. However, Bell reassures Ryu that she is far too valuable and may very well be the only reason the two have made it so far. The moment served as a heartwarming scene between the two, further strengthening their emotions for one another.

However, the touching moment soon ended as the two had to go up against another monster, which was revealed to be a Skull Sheep, known for their lightning fast speed and voracious bloodlust. In the blink of an eye, the monster bites a part of Bell’s arm, and attacks a second time, almost severing his other arm, with Bell barely escaping after stabbing the Skull Sheep countless times. Ryu suggests that the two should try to find a closed-off cave to rest for a while – which they eventually do, leaving them in a traumatized state as they find the skeletal remains of adventurers trapped within the deep floors.

The ghastly site instilled fear into Bell’s mind, mentally debilitating the adventurer as he spiraled into despair. Ryu eventually knocks some sense into him, but it's too late as they face another herd of Skull Sheeps. Bell loses control as he throws wades of spells at the monsters, forcing them to flee at the cost of blocking the entrance to the room with falling debris. For the moment, the two try to catch their breath as another wave of monsters is expected to show up after five minutes or so.

The title of the episode, “Morgue (Victim)”, is quite befitting for the concluding scene, as Bell and Ryu remained trapped within the room, hopeless and afraid. With the constant threat of death looming over the two, the ending scene depicted the room in a morgue-like state. Bell’s constant fear of death further exacerbated the already fervent feeling of despair, making it seem like this is truly the end for the duo. However, it’s still too soon to reach such a conclusion regarding their fate, as things may take a turn for the better if the rescue party from Orario reaches them soon.
