Resident Evil fans looking to play recent games in the series on the go should know that both the Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Village are getting native releases on Apple's iPhone 15 Pro. Tech giant Apple is currently hosting its big Wonderlust event, using the opportunity to reveal the major new products it has in the pipeline. One of the most exciting new pieces of hardware coming out of Apple is the iPhone 15 Pro, which is set to launch on September 22.
The iPhone 15 Pro will cost $999 at launch, while the beefier iPhone 15 Pro Max will cost $1199. Pre-orders for both phones open on September 15. Gamers may want to consider getting their hands on the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, as the devices will represent significant upgrades for mobile gaming and be able to play some modern console games natively.
This includes two of Capcom's more recent Resident Evil games, the previously mentioned Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Village. Specific release dates for the iPhone 15 Pro versions of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 remake are not available at the time of this writing, but they are both expected to come out at some point later this year.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is the latest game in Capcom's long-running survival-horror franchise. It retains much of what made the original Resident Evil 4 popular back in the day, but with significantly improved graphics and a darker, more horror-focused tone. The remake makes a number of enhancements to the core gameplay, though it does lack some of the bonus modes that were available in the original RE4 back in the day.
Resident Evil Village, meanwhile, first launched in 2021. Whereas the Resident Evil 4 remake is a third-person shooter, Resident Evil Village utilizes the first-person perspective popularized by Resident Evil 7. Village features a similar rural setting as RE4, but has players contending with completely different kinds of monsters. Both games earned critical acclaim and should make excellent additions to the iPhone 15 Pro game lineup.
Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village aren't the only games coming to the iPhone 15 Pro. It's also been announced that Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding is coming to iPhone 15 Pro at some point in 2023, while Assassin's Creed Mirage will release for the platform at an unspecified date in 2024.
