Invincible showrunner Robert Kirkman hinted at the possibility of crossover with another Amazon Prim Video series, The Boys.

With Invincible starting its second season following a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, fans can't help but wonder how far they will go with this universe, like doing crossovers with other superheroes. While Kirkman did not confirm if a crossover was happening, he did confirm that it is possible that Invincible and The Boys would cross paths with one another in the future, though he did not add any more details.

During New York Comic-Con on October 14, Kirkman replied, "We could," when asked about the possibility of an Invincible and The Boys crossover, per The Hollywood Handle's X account. Kirkman did not provide further details on the matter since it is only hypothetical. Given that Invincible season 2 needed two and a half years to follow up on its exhilarating first season, their priorities are probably ensuring the fans don't have to wait that long again.

One possible problem is that the shows are presented in two different styles, with Invincible being an animated show and The Boys being a live-action show. At the same time, The Boys did an animated show called The Boys Presents: Diabolical, so it's not entirely out of the question that the two sides could meet one another. However, both have resonated with audiences because of their original take on the superhero genre. For The Boys, the point they make is that if superheroes were real, they would probably be worshiped like celebrities and would be horrible people behind the scenes. For Invincible, they make the point that if one became a superhero, life would probably suck because they would lose most of their fights and put their life at risk.

This isn't the first time Invincible has been rumored to be crossing over with another superhero property, as it was reported that a possible crossover with Spider-Man could be in the works. Adding Josh Keaton, who voiced the wall-crawler in Spectacular Spider-Man, to the Invincible season 2 cast fueled the speculation. Given the parallels between Mark Grayson and Peter Parker, it makes sense why they would be paired up like they did in the graphic novel.

Crossing over with The Boys would be complicated because, unlike Invincible, the superheroes in the former world were not born with powers. They were made that way because of Compound V. Still, it would make for an interesting contrast between the two worlds. Also, ever since Invincible's release, fans have loved the idea of seeing Homelander and Omni-Man on the same screen. Though that has happened in gaming, fans would love to see the two Evil Supermen clash, or worse, ally with one another.

Invincible season 2 will premiere on November 3, 2023.
