A new Invincible season 2 update was provided by Amazon Prime Video, though the details remain ambiguous on the plot of season 2.The video update provided by Amazon Prime Video seemingly shared an Invincible season 2 clip. However, the clip focused not on the show itself but on the announcement coming at San Diego Comic-Con. The clip appeared to symbolize the significance of the update they will share with their fans.RELATED:The Boys Star Thinks His Character Is The Weakest One On The ShowThe official Invincible Twitter account released a clip of what appears to be the show's next season. The footage of the season depicts an archaeologist who seems to have found a mummy inside a pyramid. However, it appears the mummy is a haunted ghost of some kind, as the archaeologist cries for help as it rises in the air. The clip also has captions to symbolize actions and people. They captioned the action of releasing the mummy as "an email from Amazon corporate," the archaeologist as "Invincible Admin," the mummy rising as "SDCC Season 2 News," and the other petrified archaeologists as "Invincible Fans."

This all indicates that the update they've got in store for fans will blow their minds. Not many details have been released regarding season 2 after such a mind-blowing season 1in 2021. The Invincible season 2 villain was confirmed, but that's about it. There haven't been any full trailers or sneak peeks. It feels as though they are aware of this, which is why they are hyping this up to be a massive reveal knowing how much time has passed since they ended season 1, especially since season 1 seemed to say that viewers were only at the tip of the iceberg.

It would be disappointing if they hyped this big reveal only to subvert expectations upon release and keep their fans in the dark. Fans want to see what happens next because they took to Invincible because of how fresh the material was. The superhero genre has fallen prey to getting bland and repetitive. However, shows like Invincible and The Boys added something refreshingly new. In Invincible's case, it was fresh to see the protagonist idealize being a superhero, only to realize how difficult it is to live that kind of life as he loses fight after fight.

To make things worse, it turns out his father, Omni Man, the strongest man on Earth, is a tyrannical alien assisting his race in taking over every planet in the solar system. Mark managed to get through to him by letting him know that he still unconditionally loves his father despite being beaten within an inch of his life by his old man, making it exciting to see what Omni Man does next. Is he still loyal to Viltrum, or has the loving human race gotten through to him?

Invincible season 2 is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in late 2023.
