Invincible's X account gave the full details when they announced Maslany's role(s) in Invincible season 2. "Tatiana Maslany as Queen Lizard? Why stop there?! Get your first look at two more characters she voices in S2, Telia and Aquaria. Head to @io9 link in bio for more details," they wrote. Via io9, they described Queen Aquaria as the “sole monarch of the Atlanteans and their undersea kingdom after her husband, AQUARUS, was murdered by Omni-Man. A beloved leader who rules with an iron fin, she seeks retribution for her husband’s death—through unconventional means.” They then revealed the other character Maslany will play, General Telia, who is described as “a decorated general for the Coalition of Planets with a zero-tolerance policy for Viltrumite aggression. She keeps her private life private—for now.”
Invincible has used actors who have been in superhero media before. For example, they cast JK Simmons, whose most iconic role in Hollywood is playing J Jonah Jameson in the original Spider-Man trilogy, as Omni-Man. They made his likeness like Jameson.
