Apple revealed the first trailer for its new science fiction drama series Invasion. This will be a 10 episode series that debuts its first three entries in the fall, with the remaining seven releasing one week from each other.

This weekly release format is a similar format to how the recent critically acclaimed Invincible released its episodes. The first three debuted on March 25 while the remaining five came one week after another.

Invasion tells the story of an alien arrival on Earth from the view of multiple characters, who each give a different perspective as to how the invasion unfolds. In the trailer, we see a soldier, a middle schooler, a scientist, a sheriff, and a mother and her family all bringing different locations and backgrounds to offer a unique story. The cast includes Shamier Anderson (Bruised, Awake), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Firas Nassar (Fauda), and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2). The trailer did a good job at teasing the destruction as well as the repercussions of the aliens invading, and they also made sure not to give viewers a reveal of what the aliens looked like. Viewers only get a glimpse of what appears to be an alien spaceship at the very end of the trailer.

Apple TV+ is a streaming service similar to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. However, Apple's service will run viewers $4.99/month in order to stream its television shows, movies, and other content. This new release format of giving multiple episodes to binge on the first day, while making fans wait weeks for the rest, gives the best of both worlds in terms of satisfying the people who like to binge their content while also giving something to the fan base that enjoys the traditional style of waiting.

The Invasion trailer did well to not unveil the aliens' appearance, so it gives viewers a reason to watch this series and a reveal to look forward to. When trailers give away their big heavy-hitting reveals, it gives viewers little to no reason to watch the movie or be surprised while they're watching it. This is assuming that the "space ship" at the end was an actual vehicle and not the alien itself. In the event that it is the alien, it looks very reminiscent of the aliens from Arrival as well as the aliens from Mass Effect, the Reapers.

With recent reports on the news about possible UFO sightings and the conversation becoming more popular, one can see how this might be a nice distraction for fans of the extraterrestrial genre. Let's hope that if those UFOs are real that they come in peace and are not nearly anything like the ones seen in the Invasion trailer.

Invasion will be available on October 22nd, 2021, for subscribers of Apple TV+.
