Inscryption is one of those games that is just filled to the brim with secrets. One of the many is the Static Card; it's a blank card that can be added to a player's deck. But this deck-builder game never explains what it does or how it works, so players have experimented with the card to find out its meaning and uses.

Updated on February 22, 2022, by Mina Smith: Inscryption was the surprise smash hit of 2021, and players have been scouring the game in order to discover all of its secrets. The Static Card is a rare card in Inscryption, but not so rare that players haven't been able to figure out how to get a hold of it for themselves. The Static Card, with its secret binary code for a name and also known as the Glitch Card, has also appeared in the Kaycee's Mod version of the game.

Getting The Static/Glitch Card In Inscryption

While rare, the Static Card is not the rarest of all the cards available in Act 1 of Inscryption. Some Reddit fans thought the trigger for this card showing up was to create a zero-cost deathcard, but that no longer seems to be the case. It can appear in any run after a player has died at least once in Leshy's game.

It can also be found at almost any point in the Kaycee's Mod version on Inscryption. But regardless of what triggers the card to become available to players, it's a mystery to those seeing it for the first time. The game never properly explains how the card works, so players have to figure it out all on their own.

Uses For The Binary Card In Inscryption

The Static Card, which is also known as the Glitch Card or the Binary Card, is named "01100100 01100101 01100101 01110000 00100000 01100010 01100101 01101110 01100101 01100001 01110100 01101000 00001010." This binary text together with the fuzzy, broken TV screen-look of the card doesn't give away much to players who have never seen it before. Even translating it doesn't help much; The code reads "Deep Beneath" and is part of figuring out the very complicated secret ending of Inscryption.

While the card looks like nothing at all, it is actually a creature. The Static Card has the ability to change into any other card from Act 1 in Inscryption except for any deathcard. It takes on a new appearance, cost, and picture each time it is put into the challenger's hand. It also appears to be able to turn into cards that players haven't unlocked yet or seen by the player during their games.

Inscryption Player Looking At Hand Of Cards

But the usefulness of this card is debatable. While having the card in a deck can be useful on occasion, the card that it will turn into isn't always something players will want to have in their decks. The card does not seem to do anything special when sacrificed to the bone god and does not appear to have any special qualities.

However, it can a fun addition to any deck, as it can become anything. So if players are trying to just have fun, this card can be great, but if players are going for the best possible deck in Inscryption, they'll probably want to pass this one over.

Whether players choose to grab it for their deck is completely up to them. It can be a boon or a hindrance depending on their luck in this horror card-based indie game by Daniel Mullins.

Inscryption is available for PC.
