Last month, the DC Fandome show revealed many of the most anticipated DC works such as the Gotham Knights title, the Suicide Squad video game, and new trailers for Wonder Woman 1984 and The Batman. However, one thing was missing from the DC Universe in the event. Despite Ed Boon attending the first DC Fandome, nothing about Injustice 3 was mentioned.

Now, during part two of DC Fandome, Ed Boon has made another appearance, this time during the "Inside Injustice - Making the Hit Games and Comics" panel. Rumors have been flying around about what NetherRealm's next release could be. While Mortal Kombat 11 is still receiving support with themed character skins and a rumored Kombat Pack on the way, many fans are still anticipating any announcement regarding Injustice 3.

Ed Boon did comment on Injustice 3 during the panel, but did not reveal much. Boon stated, "I wish we could talk but at the moment we have nothing to announce, but we appreciate the desire to see it." As of now, Boon has squashed all rumors of an Injustice 3 announcement, but it is important to note that Boon is well-known for throwing fans off with comments, so the Mortal Kombat creator may have more in store than he is letting on.

Many fans were hoping that Ed Boon's appearance in the Injustice panel would confirm the Injustice 3 rumors, but based on Boon's comments, if Injustice 3 is in development, it would be in the very early stages. Fans still have plenty of DC video game content to look forward to with Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad. Both games feature four playable characters so DC fans will get a chance to use Batman's apprentices and the unlikely squad of supervillains.

In fact, Injustice 2 featured many of the characters in the upcoming DC games so fans may notice some similarities in fighting styles and powers. Robin, Red Hood, Harley Quinn, Deathstroke, and Superman are all included in Injustice 2's massive roster. If Injustice 3 does ever get announced, it may take inspiration from the large list of DC works coming soon like Robert Pattinson's Batman or the newly introduced characters like Bloodsport, King Shark, and Peacemaker from James Gunn's Suicide Squad remake.

Fans should not give up hope on Injustice 3, as NetherRealm is still supporting Mortal Kombat 11, but perhaps will shift focus as time goes on. Boon has said that Mortal Kombat 11 will receive support and new content for years, but that does not mean Injustice 3 will not be a priority. As of now, fans can be on the lookout for any further information about Injustice 3, but it is unlikely that any other DC Fandome panel will mention the title.

Injustice 3 has not been announced by NetherRealm Studios.
