A returning feature from its predecessor is the Clash system in Injustice 2. It's a fighting mechanic that captures the feel of a battle between superheroes and supervillains. There's a similar system in Dragon Ball FighterZ - another fighting game that recaptures the sense of super-powered beings in a power struggle.

Like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Injustice 2 is easy to pick up for beginners while having a technical and rewarding fighting system under the hood. Success depends on timing and knowing when to attack, block, and use special attacks like the Super Moves and the Clash Mechanic in Injustice 2. That's not to say two inexperienced players can't have a good time fighting each other by mashing buttons or sticking to the basics. However, getting good at Injustice 2 requires the player to learn the techniques, including the Clash system.

Activating The Clash System

To Clash in Injustice 2, follow these steps:

  • With at least two Red health bars, press and hold theR2/RT button to activate the Burn Meter.
  • Then press the D-pad (or L Stick) in the opponent's direction while getting to begin the Clash animation as the Defender. With a Red Health bar, the defender stands to regain health if they win the Clash.
  • Press the D-pad (or L Stick) in the opponent's direction to begin the Clash animation as the Attacker. The damage is determined by how many Super Move bars are wagered.

As stated above, the Clash mechanic in Injustice 2 requires timing and knowing when to use it in battle. There's also an element of luck involved in winning a Clash event between two characters in Injustice 2. Players must determine how many bars of their Super Move to use to win the Clash.

The Super Meter is split into four bars, and players must guess and wager how many bars to use in a Clash situation. For example, if Player one wagers two Super Move bars and their opponent wagers four, then player one will lose the Clash. If both players choose the same number of bars, the Clash is determined as a draw.

Using the Clash mechanic in Injustice 2 can turn the tide of a battle, or it can cost the player the entire round or fight. Use it wisely, as wagering the wrong number of Super Move bars can be costly.

Injustice 2 is available for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
