Infamous Second Son features an abundance of difficult choices for Delsin to make during his adventure. An early decision is whether to come clean about his powers to the D.U.P or remain silent at the cost of his tribe. This guide will break down the pros and cons of this first critical choice.

Infamous Second Son is an adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Set after the events of Infamous 2, the game follows the new protagonist "Delsin Rowe" as he is thrown into the conflict between the D.U.P and "Bio-Terrorists," people who have developed superhuman abilities.

The Choice

Delsin's first experience with his powers involves a deadly chase through a burning building and an encounter with the man who started the fire. Shortly afterward, while chasing the culprit, Delsin meets the D.U.P commander Augustine. Her line of questioning involves slowly encasing his friends, family, and self in concrete while politely demanding information from him.

Augustine seems convinced that Delsin is hiding something, especially given his use of the word "Conduit," which the D.U.P and the public frown upon.

As such, she demands answers, resulting in players being offered two choices. Delsin could keep his powers a secret, saving him from the wrath of Augustine and the D.U.P but potentially leaving his family and friends to suffer and/or die. Alternatively, Delsin can come clean, sacrificing himself to keep the tribe safe and facing Augustine and the D.U.P's wrath.

Infamous Second Son Story

If Delsin chooses to turn himself in, his choice of words causes Augustine to (ironically) deduce that he isn't a conduit and must be making it up to protect the others. She leaves without removing the concrete spikes from the bodies of her victims.

This earns Delsin good karma points, pushing him in the direction of the Hero alignment and starting him on the path to unlocking powers and skills that minimize collateral damage and encourage precision.

If Delsin chooses to sacrifice the tribe, Augustine will vent her anger in the same way she does if he tries to turn himself in, leaving the tribe full of concrete spikes as she departs. Delsin will receive evil karma points, pushing him in the direction of the Infamous alignment and starting him on the path to unlock powers and skills that specialize in damage and destruction.

Ultimately, the choice boils down to the player's preferred playstyle and chosen route, as it will not affect the story outside potentially changing the ending and some small pieces of dialog if Delsin keeps picking good or evil options often enough.

Infamous Second Son is available for PS4.
