Sucker Punch Productions might have moved on to the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima in more recent years, but its PlayStation 4 title Infamous Second Son still remains a solid entry for a previous console generation. The fast-paced action-adventure game was the last mainline entry in the fan-favorite Infamous series, and while it's almost been a decade since Infamous Second Son was released, it's still a fun title to pick up and play. However, after a wave of excellent titles in the previous few years and a new console generation underway, games like Infamous Second Son have been sort of left by the wayside and could do with another breath of life.

Remakes, reboots, and ports are a reliable source of second chances for games that might otherwise be stranded on obsolete platforms as they're overshadowed by newer and shinier titles. While sometimes the endless conveyer belt of recycled material can get a little tiresome if the source material isn't handled correctly or given an appropriate refresh, there is something to be said for bringing older titles up to date and allowing new audiences to discover them. Infamous Second Son was a great PlayStation 4 game, but it's one that can still get overlooked. A PC version could be the perfect comeback and would allow plenty of fan creativity to creep in too.

These days, the superhero genre feels particularly oversaturated with films, TV series, and video games aplenty. It can be hard for new titles to wring anything original from the familiar formula, and sometimes players get tired of the same tropes being reeled out again and again. When the first Infamous launched in 2009, audiences weren't numb to these concepts yet, and the gritty and original story of Sucker Punch's game was welcomed by gamers. A sequel soon followed, and Infamous 2 managed to achieve critical and commercial success just as its predecessor had.

Infamous Second Son and its spin-off Infamous First Light introduced new protagonists and new powers, polishing the visuals and creating some pretty spectacular-looking action sequences for players to enjoy. Even though there were elements of the familiar superhero origin story present, Infamous Second Son still felt like a really fresh take on the genre, and playing it felt great too. While it's true that Infamous Second Son's graphics and gameplay have aged slightly in comparison to what's available nowadays, it wouldn't take much to brush off the cobwebs and bring the 2014 title up to modern-day standards with an impressive PC version.

Not only would it be fun to play a remastered Infamous Second Son, but it would also be a reward for fans who have been waiting patiently to hear about the future of the popular IP for years. Bringing the game to PC could transform its already impressive visuals into something really fantastic, especially with Infamous Second Son's photo mode and entertaining traversal options that let players run riot all over the city looking for the best vantage points. Another massive argument for bringing the game across to PC is the freedom it would give gamers to create their own mods – something that could crack Infamous Second Son's world wide open in all the best ways.

There are a number of older titles that have managed to cling to relevance for years thanks to their active modding communities, and the players are able to get incredibly creative when it comes to putting their own spin on the in-game world. Infamous Second Son seems ripe for its own fan reimagining, with almost endless possibilities for new player-made abilities that they could try out. The setting is the perfect playground to experiment with powers, and opening the door to numerous mods could enhance Infamous Second Son in so many ways and let gamers create their own version of the overpowered protagonists to explore the game with.
