A fan unearthed some interesting details regarding Bethesda and MachineGames' Indiana Jones game, which was previously rumored to release this year according to insiders. A Bethesda executive has described Indiana Jones as a "mash-up" of several genres.

During an interview, Bethesda Game Director Todd Howard described that Indiana Jones combines ideas taken from multiple kinds of games. He left this reveal quite vague, but explained that Indiana Jones "isn't one thing intentionally, so it does a lot of different things." Other evidence has pointed towards the game possibly featuring a multiplayer component, so this might be what Howard was referring to. Also, some fans took this to mean that Indiana Jones might switch between first-person and third-person viewpoints, depending on the type of level or environment that the player is in. A similar feature has been implemented in many Bethesda games before, but this would be a more focused-on feature in Indiana Jones, hypothetically. Recently, one Bethesda fan revealed more intriguing details regarding Indiana Jones.

Indiana Jones has punched his fair share of Nazis, but what hits harder than his fist are these great quotes from the man himself.

Twitter user Kurakasis revealed that Lucasfilm registered several domains on January 9 that were centered around the name Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, possibly revealing the title of Bethesda's future game. Additionally, Lucasfilm filed a trademark in Europe two years ago for The Great Circle in the context of "goods and services for video games." These trademarks included "mobile" as part of their goods and services. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that the game will see a mobile release, as Kurakasis explained that most games nowadays make the same inclusion of "mobile" in their trademarks due to users now being able to stream games from a PC or console to their phone. Alternatively, they also suggested that this could be due to legal reasons.

While this is exciting news, Indiana Jones fans will get additional news very soon. It's been confirmed that Bethesda's Indiana Jones will be featured at Xbox's Developer Direct on January 18. Indiana Jones will be given a ten-minute spotlight where it will reveal its title and first gameplay trailer. It's not known what other details will be shown.

This reveal will likely confirm whether Indiana Jones is first-person, third-person, or both. MachineGames, a Bethesda-owned studio that is playing a major part in Indiana Jones' development, is best known for its first-person Wolfenstein reboot, so a purely third-person game would be a surprise to most.

The Developer Direct will showcase other future Xbox games as well like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, and Hellblade 2. These games are all planned to release in 2024, so it seems likely that Indiana Jones will see a similar release window.
