Players will learn a variety of spells in Immortals of Aveum that serve a broad range of purposes as Jak traverses Aveum, some of which are not explicitly explained or immediately obvious. For players encountering mysterious boxes with green doors that contain a chest, the key to accessing what is behind the trap door is to know how to use Jak's powers. Since Jak has access to a large assortment of abilities, however, some players may find this difficult.

How To Unlock Green Boxes Containing Chests

As Jak travels throughout the various locations in Aveum on his journey to put an end to the country's suffering, he encounters a number of crates and chests that contain anything from weapons to basic materials that can be used to upgrade weapons. While the majority of these can be opened seamlessly by pressing the interact button or breaking them open with an attack, the chests hidden behind the green trap doors will make players work for their prize.

Opening the green doors attached to each box requires two different applications of magic in quick succession. The first of these requires players to strike a colored crystal that will be found in close proximity to the box. When striking the crystal, players should be mindful to ensure that they have a clear line of sight to the box, as the trap door will close almost as soon as the crystal has been struck.

To overcome the impossible time pressure on the door of the box, players will need to use a spell that slows down the door's movement. This can be done by firing Limpets at the door; however, firing one won't be sufficient. The key to keeping the door open is to strike the crystal and then fire as many Limpets as possible to hold the door in place for long enough to open the chest. Aiming is important; however, as the Limpet is a green magic ability, the projectiles will home in on the target to make it a little easier.

Immortals of Aveum is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
