Crystals play a number of roles in Immortals of Aveum and are scattered throughout the game's many locations. Some of these will be crucial in solving puzzles and opening locked doors, however, there are a number of spiked red crystals that have many players scratching their heads regarding their purpose and what to do with them.
While an understanding of the game mechanics in Immortals of Aveum would have players attempting to break the red crystals using an attack with a red Sigil, gamers are quickly learning that this is ineffective on the structures. With that said, there is a particular type of magic that the red crystals are especially prone to. To break these crystals open and acquire what's inside, players will need to find said magic.
How To Destroy Red Crystals
Despite their mysterious presence in Immortals of Aveum, the red crystals scattered throughout the game's many locations, unfortunately, do not seem to serve a greater purpose. With that said, they still contain resources that can prove invaluable for Jak as he attempts to overcome the relentless forces of Rasharn. With the right spell selection, Jak is able to break open these crystals and make use of the supplies that the gems contain.
In order to break a red crystal, players will first need to acquire the red totem and the spell that it contains, called Disrupt. This spell uses a beam of focused red energy to stun targets and will detonate an opponent's spell if timed correctly. This concentrated source of red energy is also potent enough to break open crystals, with players needing to hold the spell for only a few seconds before it shatters.
While the crystals don't hold any valuable weapons or gear, players will find that they will be able to replenish their own crystal stocks by breaking the red ones open. Once a red crystal has been opened, Jak will be able to take a health and a mana crystal, both of which are essential for survival and ensure that Jak is equipped for just about anything Sandrakk and his forces can throw at him.
