Released in the final months of 2020, Immortals: Fenyx Rising was released to critical acclaim with fans and reviewers alike. It was developed by the same team that created Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and is a more light-hearted take on Greek Mythology.

Fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have also noticed that Immortals doesn’t shy away from replicating the Nintendo exclusive’s blueprint. Even though that may seem disastrous on paper, Immortals: Fenyx Rising manages to feel like its own game with a huge world. It’s a huge world with an overwhelming and often intimidating amount of things to do. So this list is to help players feel like a warrior sent by the Gods.

10 Explore The Clashing Rocks

There are still plenty of secrets to discover at the Clashing Rocks

Immortals: Fenyx Rising will begin at an area called The Clashing Rocks. While it will be tempting to get out into the world, explore and slay mythological beasts players should definitely make sure they return to this area as soon as possible.

Doing so will provide players with a good head start when it comes to obtaining abilities, weapons, and solving puzzles. The Lyre challenges in particular will reward players with Charon Coins so that they can upgrade their Godly powers at the Hall of Gods.

9 Bolt From The Blue

Phosphor is Fenyx's trusty companion

Once players are able to explore the world they will eventually trigger a quest called “Bolt From The Blue”. Players will know that the quest has been activated because they will that something has crashed into the ground some distance from Fenyx’s position.

It would be wise to try and complete this quest as soon as possible because this will give players access to the Phoenix known as Phosphor, a bird that will become a faithful companion in the game from the quest onwards.

8 Obtain Laurion

Laurion is the best mount in the game

Another great reason to make sure one returns to the Clashing Rocks area from the early areas in the game is the mount known as Laurion. Anyone that has ever watched the Clash of the Titans movies will recognize the flying horse as a Pegasus.

It’s one of the best mounts in the game and can be accessed once Fenyx has learned the Glide ability. This will allow the main character to access the southern-most landmass to obtain it. Exploring the rest of the world map will be much easier thanks to Laurion.

7 Revisit The Hall Of Gods

The Hall of Gods

When players are losing hours upon hours in a massive open-world game such as this one it is easy to forget to revisit previously explored areas. However, all players should make sure that they make time for the Hall of Gods.

The Hall of Heroes is more important than any island, however, because this is the place where Fenyx can upgrade their skills. Players should keep going back to the Hall every few hours because completing side quests means that Fenyx will be able to upgrade often.

6 Learn How To Parry

learn to dodge and parry

Parrying in Immortals: Fenyx Rising is an important skill to learn as it will create openings on enemies when mastered. As with Ubisoft’s other games like the Assassin’s Creed series, timing is everything when it comes to parrying, it’s the most useful form of defense,

The parry opportunities will be indicated by a blue flash or spark and the enemy open for a counter-attack. However, there are some enemies that require several parries in a row for a countermove to work and as mentioned, timing is everything.

5 The Strength Of Herakles

Immortals Fenyx Rising Herakles Strength

The ability known as Herakles Strength is one of the most useful Powers in Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It allows Fenyx to pull and move heavy objects which is a must for many of the block and boulder moving puzzles.

However, it has some amazing abilities in combat too by allowing Fenyx to throw objects at enemies on the battlefield. Better still, if an enemy pulls a boulder out of the ground and throws it at Fenyx it can be countered by catching it out of the air throwing it back.

4 Tag Far Away Locations

Use Far Sight tag important items

To reveal more of the map Immortals: Fenyx Rising requires players to climb huge statues that represent the Greek Gods. This is almost exactly the same way that towers, tall buildings, and radio towers work in Ubisoft’s Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed series.

However, one key difference in Immortals is that players have to tag the locations themselves by using the Far Sight ability. Doing so will also reveal the locations of Ambrosia, chests, and other notable secrets that need to be discovered.

3 Upgrade The Sword Combo

Immortals Combat

One of the first skills that players need to spend their hard-earned Charon Coins on is the Sword Combo upgrade. Unsurprisingly, focusing on this skill will make Fenyx a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield but there are other useful bonuses too.

Players can increase the effectiveness of stealth attacks by dealing 400 damage which makes a huge impact on some of the larger enemies. A successful stealth attack will also refill 200% of Fenyx’s stamina bar per hit. This is in addition to landing successful 3-hit combos and finishers which will also refill Fenyx stamina bar.

2 Upgrade The Climb Leap

There's a lot climbing in Immortals

Just like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild climbing huge obstacles, towers, and mountains is an important aspect of Immortals. In addition to the climbing, the draining stamina bar will also play a huge part in how far Fenyx can climb.

However, investing two Charon Coins in the Climb Leap skill will allow Fenyx to scales mountains with speed and grace because the protagonist is now able to leap upwards without draining any extra stamina.

1 Upgrade Telekinesis Gathering

Gathering makes collecting pomegranates much easier

Gathering resources is an important aspect of Immortals: Fenyx Rising but the process can be a little time consuming when it comes to gathering up nearby ingredients and other useful items. At the cost of two Charon Coins Fenyx will be able to vacuum up all the nearby resources with ease.

The ability to gather all these resources at ease will definitely take away the pain of grabbing lots of items individually. Fenyx will then needs to craft these materials at the Cauldrons of Circe.
