With it being the Halloween season, all the battle royale games are holding their own themed events, including Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft is taking part in the festivities too with its own battle royale, Hyper Scape.

The event has, in fact, started today and will be running for two weeks until November 3rd. A new trailer provides a glimpse at some of the new content players can look forward to acquiring, specifically cosmetics for characters and weapons like zombie skins, techno-pumpkin heads, and even a cauldron filled with candy that can be thrown. The setting of Neo Arcadia itself has even been altered visually, with matches now taking place during a fog-filled night and Halloween decorations adorning the streets.

The trailer also promises new modes to play, but it doesn't detail any of them and, at the time of writing, Ubisoft hasn't mentioned anything about what these modes are on the official website. So anyone who is curious will need to boot up Hyper Scape themselves and see.

Time will tell how successful this Halloween event will be for the game. Despite an impressive first showing, Hyper Scape hasn't become quite as well-recognized as its peers, even after the Season 2 update at the beginning of October.

It's probably not hyperbole to say that its popularity is dwarfed by the success of games like Fall Guys, which also launched with very little build-up and became a Twitch sensation over night. However, Fall Guys has held onto its initial popularity, with there still being demands for it to be ported to other platforms like the Nintendo Switch.

Hyper Scape is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
