The world of Hunter x Hunter has seen the introduction of quite a lot of talented nen users over the years. Ever since the introduction of the power system that is nen, fans got to see the main characters train in this art and master it accordingly.
Nen certainly isn't easy to gain a good grasp over, however, there are some characters in the story whose skills exceed that of others by a mile right from their childhood. These characters are deemed as prodigious nen users and are said to have talent that only one in a million people possess.
9 Kurapika Kurta
Kurapika is one of the most prodigious characters in the world of Hunter x Hunter. He passed the Hunter exam along with Gon and managed to gain a decent mastery over his nen shortly afterwards. By the Yorknew City arc, Kurapika had already become strong enough to take on the likes of the Phantom Troupe, which is an incredibly huge jump in skill.
He managed to kill Uvogin, one of their strongest members, without any trouble whatsoever. With time, he's only gone on to become even stronger and will continue to do so with time.
8 Chrollo Lucilfer
The leader of the Phantom Troupe, Chrollo is yet another powerful nen user who falls into the genius category. With his incredible nen ability, called Skill Hunter, and a keen intellect, he can steal nen from anyone after following some stipulations.
Chrollo is so incredibly skilled that even Zeno Zoldyck couldn't defeat him in single combat. His powers were good enough to defeat Hisoka as well.
7 Hisoka Morow
Just like Chrollo, Hisoka is yet another user of nen who is deemed to be a genius. Hisoka is a Transmutation type of nen user and can give the properties of both rubber and gum to his aura using Bungee Gum.
In terms of skill, he's certainly one of the most prodigious talents to ever emerge in the Hunter x Hunter world. Hisoka can defeat skilled nen users without even trying and he managed to kill several members of the Phantom Troupe with rather ease.
6 Menthuthuyoupi
One of the Royal Guards of the Chimera Ant army, Menthuthuyoupi was born a monstrously powerful Ant with a natural disposition for nen. Unlike other Chimera Ants, he could use this ability from the get-go and only got stronger with time despite not even having lived a whole year.
The potential that he carried was immense and it goes without saying that he's among the most prodigious characters in the entire story.
5 Shaiapouf
Like Menthuthuyoupi, Shaiapouf was also one of the Royal Guards of King Meruem, and was this born with the power to use Nen from the very beginning.
Pouf was incredibly smart and calculating, even more so than Youpi, making him more a skilled user of nen in complex situations. He could fight evenly against the most seasoned Hunters, such as Morel, which just goes to show that he was immensely talented.
4 Neferpitou
Neferpitou was one of the strongest Chimera Ants and a member of the Royal Guard, just like Pouf and Youpi.
They possessed incredibly powerful nen right from birth and their skill was such that they could kill Kite, one of the most skilled Hunters, without even trying merely days after being born. Neferpitou was exceptionally skilled and rightfully deserves to be deemed as a prodigy in the Hunter x Hunter world.
3 Killua Zoldyck
Killua is a member of the Zoldyck family, a group of assassins, and among their ranks, he holds the highest potential. From a very young age, Killua was able to show his genius without even trying.
After learning nen, he became even stronger and his progress was certainly staggering to watch. Killua's incredibly fast progress rate surprised even Bisky, who already considered him to be a one-in-a-million-nen user. With time, he's only going to get stronger.
2 Gon Freecss
Gon is the protagonist of Hunter x Hunter and also ranks among the most prodigious users of nen seen in the story. Even before he unlocked this power, he was deemed to be very intriguing by Hisoka.
According to Wing, his talent far surpassed that of an average person and Bisky considered him to have frightening potential as a user of nen. What's more, Gon's full potential, when unlocked, was enough for him to completely crush Neferpitou in combat and reach the same level of power as Meruem.
1 Meruem
Undoubtedly, the most prodigious user of nen in the story so far is the King of the Chimera Ants, Meruem. Being born with nen, Meruem continued to grow stronger the more he ate. His genius was such that he figured out anyone's weakness within mere seconds and even the nen master, Isaac Netero, stood no chance against him.
Meruem was tremendously skilled and despite living a very short life, had already become the strongest being alive. Had he lived longer, he could well have conquered the world.
