The Hunt: Showdown community will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy update 1.5 for the horror-based battle royale-like. In a recent blog post, Crytek shared the upcoming plans for Hunt: Showdown, revealing that update 1.5 will be pushed to 2021, but also giving some nice teases for what players can look forward to.
Crytek's team-oriented shooter has received consistent content and updates, with the Halloween event in Hunt: Showdown being the most recent example. Crytek also has a roadmap on its Hunt: Showdown website, one that explains what the team is planning on adding in the coming months and beyond, many of the ideas being requests directly from the fans. Update 1.5 was supposed to arrive in late 2020 and give players a new boss, custom ammo types, and more. Unfortunately, the wait will be a little longer now thanks to the fact that "2020 has not been kind."
Following the somewhat disappointing piece of information, Crytek softened the blow by providing teaser images of what players can expect in 2021 for Hunt: Showdown. The pictures show what looks like a new boss lair (where perhaps a cow-themed boss will be found), new weapons, and more. Additionally, the pictures show locations that look brand new, meaning the long-awaited new map is likely still on track for 2021. Fans have been guessing that it could be a Louisiana plantation, as the game takes place in the bayous. The locations, atmosphere, and design are some of the best parts about Hunt: Showdown, so giving more of that is extremely exciting.
Crytek also confirmed that update 1.4.8 is still coming in 2020, and that some of what players were hoping for in update 1.5 will be a part of that content drop. In the meantime, players can vote on which Trait in Hunt: Showdown should become t-shirts. This is both an excellent way of interacting with fans and celebrating the creepy but gorgeous art in Hunt: Showdown.Â
