The 1.4.4 update for Hunt: Showdown will arrive soon on PC, but first Crytek is opening up the changes for the community to try out via the test server. Hunt: Showdown will see a new weapon, new legendary gear, two new traits, a few large gameplay changes, and more.

Last month's Hunt: Showdown update, 1.4.3, saw the addition of a new weapon variant, the Winfield M1873c. Based on the large Winfield, the M1873c is designed as a medium-sized gun, meaning it can be paired with another medium gun in a loadout. Hunt's 1.4.4 update sees another version of the Winfield M1873c, the Vandal Striker, which has a knife attached to it for deadly melee attacks.

The update also sees two new Traits added to the game. Necromancer allows players to revive from a longer distance and Whispersmith reduces the noise that is created when changing gear. The wide-range of Traits allow players to adjust their hunter to a winning playstyle in Hunt: Showdown that best fits them.

Perhaps the biggest changes that come with the update have to do with subtle gameplay alterations, and players who are testing the tweaks on the test server are trying to adjust. Hunters can now sprint immediately after aiming down sights. This change makes movement much smoother, as now it is possible to 180 and run in the opposite direction or sprint to cover directly after exiting ADS. Another adjustment sees a slight delay when changing weapons. Previously it was possible to shoot a bullet, switch to a secondary, and shoot another bullet, unrealistically fast. Now that has been changed. The gunplay has not always been the best aspect of Hunt: Showdown, so these changes seem to be attempting to create more balance.

Hunt: Showdown is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
