Update 1.4.9 is now live in Hunt: Showdown, and it brings some new DLC, bug fixes, and more. The patch may not be as beefy as some previous updates to Hunt: Showdown, but Crytek is promising a massive update right around the corner.

This newest update to the PVE and PVP online horror multiplayer game brings the Spirit of Nian DLC, which includes the two Legendary Hunters North Star and The Sovereign. The DLC also brings three new Legendary weapon skins, that being Sniper's Gift (Nagant Officer Carbine), Dragon's Song (Blank Fire Decoys), and Fire Monkey (Fusees).

Along with the DLC, the update also brings a few bug fixes, including optimization between compounds. There have also been reports of problems with the UI on different occasions, and update 1.4.9 tackles some of these. The Trickershooter Hunter also released recently with some problems to Hunt: Showdown, and this new update works towards resolving those issues.

Overall, the 1.4.9 patch in Hunt: Showdown is very small, especially when compared to previous updates that brought things like single-player Trials, changes to maps, new weapons, core gameplay overhauls, and more. However, Crytek is still promising that the big 1.5 update to Hunt: Showdown is on the way.

In a follow-up tweet announcing update 1.4.9, Crytek let fans know that the team is working hard on the next big update, and that the focus is on the new boss and the recently teased custom ammunition for Hunt: Showdown. Many believe that the boss will be crow or raven themed. Meanwhile, the custom ammunition has long been a part of the roadmap for Hunt: Showdown, and fans can anticipate being able to use things like dragon's breath for a shotgun, and other game-altering strategies. And even within or outside of update 1.5, Hunt: Showdown may have a new map in 2021 as well, so fans have a lot to look forward to.

Hunt: Showdown is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
