The first new map is on the way to Hunt: Showdown in over two years. 2021 has been a banner year for Crytek's PVP and PVE shooter multiplayer horror-shooter thus far, and the hits keep coming with the newest tease. The developer has given a sneak peek of the next map for the game, and it appears to be called Reeves Quarry.

Crytek has long had a helpful roadmap for Hunt: Showdown available to fans, one that includes ideas from both the community and the developer. Update 1.5 of Hunt: Showdown dropped earlier this year, giving players the gameplay-altering ammo customization changes. The update also set the table for the brand new boss named Scrapbeak; an enemy that was hinted at for months. Now Crytek has laid out the first tease for the new map.

According to a tweet from the official Hunt: Showdown Twitter page, the map looks to be called Reeves Quarry. Compound Showcase is also noted on the image that comes with the tweet, but the best guess is that that location/compound is within the Hunt: Showdown map.

The tweet also comes with some ambiguous wording including foundations being dug and new temples being erected into the sky. One thing is for certain, however--just as the tweet indicates--the time has come to explore new environments. Currently, Hunt: Showdown has just two maps. Stillwater Bayou was the launch map and Lawson Delta came with an update in December of 2018.

The most recent Update 1.5.1 of Hunt: Showdown brought matchmaking changes on the backend that players are happy with, but the update is not very content-heavy. It could be that the next update will introduce a whole new environment to enjoy. That is something fans will likely look forward to.

Hunt: Showdown is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
