One thing is for sure, Hunt: Showdown will always give players an unforgettable experience. The unforgiving atmosphere the game possesses is comparable to no other online game. At first glance, Hunt: Showdown appears to be a PVP game where hunters against hunters fights can prove to be tough. However, the true difficulty lies within killing the bosses and picking up their contracts while worrying about other hunters' ambushes.
One of the bosses in Hunt: Showdown is The Spider. A highly agile monster that can walk on anything, even ceilings. Luckily, that agility comes with a price. The Spider is weak to all kinds of damage but poison. If players know how to kill it, it can be killed quite easily.
Counter The Spider
When entering The Spider's Lair, hunters should understand its attacks and how to counter them. To dodge most of The Spider's attacks, hunters must keep moving around its Lair. On the other hand, if The Spider screeches, it means it's about to jump on the hunter. Players must shoot The Spider while screeching to stop that attack.
Since the boss is venomous, most of its attacks will apply poison on hunters. Furthermore, The Spider can spit poison at the hunters as well. To counter The Spider's poison, players must take an Antidote shot to protect them from all kinds of poisons.
When damaging The Spider, it will go into a Frenzy mode every 25% of The Spider's HP. So at 75%, 50%, and 25% HP, The Spider will go into a chaotic rampage where it follows hunters for a few seconds.
In this time, all damage it takes is reduced. When players take 25% of The Spider’s HP, they should move around quickly or exit the Lair. After a few seconds, they can continue their hunt against The Spider.
The Spider Weaknesses
Explosives are the boss' biggest enemy. A Big Dynamite Bundle can one-shot The Spider if players aim it right. The Spider also takes increased damage when being hit on its head.
Fire will also deal decent damage and keep The Spider burning for a while. Hunters can find Lanterns all over the map and around the boss's Lair. Using them is quite handy to win the fight.
Using Melee Weapons
Any melee weapon can deal extra damage to The Spider. The Sledgehammer can kill The Spider with few hits, and the Bomb Lance comes next in damage. It's still dangerous to be at melee range, so players need to be ready to heal at any given chance when fighting at this close range.
Using “Physician” and “Doctor” Traits can help to heal better. In addition, the “Determination” Trait greatly improves the hunter's melee fights.
Using Pistols With Fanning
At Rank 17, Hunters will unlock the "Fanning" Trait. A Trait that will speed up the fire rate of most single Pistol shots. Using “Fanning” with a good single Pistol against The Spider can be effective if used right.
When The Spider appears in front of the hunter, players must instantly land a quick three to five headshots, putting the boss into its Frenzy Mode. Hunters can keep doing that until The Spider is killed.
