Fans of Hunt: Showdown know that Crytek regularly adds content to the game via patches/updates. The game is well supported, as new weapons, traits, and more are added to the game. This newest update for Hunt: Showdown is unique, however, as it is a themed event celebrating the Halloween holiday.
Many have anticipated the Halloween Event for Hunt, the horror multiplayer game, as Crytek has been hinting towards it. But now a new video is here to highlight the event, and it has tons of timed exclusives.
The update will see changes to the world in Hunt, along with Legendary exclusive gear. Players can earn event points in-game, and then unlock things such as a Legendary Vetterli Bayonet Backbone. Players earn event points by smashing pumpkins, destroying scarecrows, investigating Halloween-specific clues, and beating in the pumpkin head of The Butcher, one of the game's bosses.
The exclusive and timed Legendary content is perhaps the most exciting element of the update. While updates for Hunt often provide new weapons, most don't come with the risk of missing out on said content. The item that will take the most time to unlock here requires 1,000 event points. But leading up to that, players can unlock 13 items, including 4 exclusive and themed weapons.
With Hunt having horror themes, a Halloween event fits perfectly into the experience. It is already quite creepy surviving the bayou in Hunt with monstrous creatures about, and of course other Hunters. But now the added mix of spooky content ups the ante.
Hunt: Showdown is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
